I'd love to see the end of rolling lockout. If you've got any type of life outside of fantasy footy you're screwed the way it is now. Look at @Rabbit last week.

I'm out and about a bit on weekends or working, shopping whatever, but even though I'm doing something, it doesn't take much to just keep an eye on the time and get your phone out check the final team list and make a quick change. Depends on how you view the game i guess, and I live a pretty simple quiet life so it's never really an issue for me.

Well they were supposed to get rid of rolling lockout when they brought in ranked subs.

Not my fault they introduced a system that basically encourages looping

I think the looping will undoubtedly become even more predominant toward the backend of the season when teams have amassed 18 guns. Can definitely see a cashout to a 212k red dot in order to play the WFB field where score variance is high.

I havent thought about it properly but implementing this would be quite difficult and probably create other dramas.

Eg if katoa is your 4th reserve and plays first, how do you stop someone moving 3rd and 5th reserve around during roling lockout.

Edit: obviouslt getting rid of rolling lockout fixes the problem but thats really the only way

To be fair I haven't thought about this much BUT

    1) Didn't we have rolling lockouts last year without the ability to loop every week?\

    2) Couldn't you enforce a rule (and I know this would need more thought) that meant that if you put a known injured player (i.e. someone who hasn't been named in the 21 into your 17), you get a zero for that player and don't get an AE?

    3) I agree, rolling lockout should have been stripped once the ranked subs structure came in....

but while we are here morning crew,

Is Hiku looking a must if you weren't in the 40% who brought him in?

I just can't go past Murray and TPJ double-blow for the points and cash combo this week, but I feel like I will be missing the boat on Hiku soon and if he scores more 50s I will be the saddest man in all the lands.

That's if anyone gets to 18 guns. 17 could be hard enough with the smaller squads. But yes, looping in the backs could be very very handy.

Definitely wouldn't be trading Hiku in. All that score did was save those of us dumb enough to start with him, no way will he go on with it.

More I think about it more I'm tempted to jettison Mitchell. He was a marginal pick to begin with and without goal kicks he'd already be gone. Hurts as Warriors fan not having SJ for the first time and RTS who were both in my team from start last 2 seasons. I think Warriors are going to carve up Raiders so get RTS a keeper with 200k spare to get Murray next week

You can't have everyone who does well and will make money. TPJ locked in for me and tossing up between Murray and Doueihi. Chances are you have Doueihi already, Hiku played against a left edge titans of Elgy Copley James( who is best at prop) and Sami and against a team that couldn't match the warriors up front. That will change. If you trade Hiku in will you be happy with a 25-30 avg next 6 weeks? Got roosters cowboys broncos dragons and storm from weeks 4-8. So less opportunities and more missed tackles to come. If you have him great, but he doesn't even enter the convo when other guys like TPJ and Murray are trade targets.

Well last year we didnt have ranked subs.

How do you enforce whether someone knows that a player is injured? What if they drop out in the 19 man list? What if they drop out an hour before kick off? That is the whole point of rabked subs

We are all fantasy nerds but there would have been a heap of social players who genuinely didnt know that katoa didnt play round 2. Sure thats on them, but again that is why ranked subs were introduced.

I am. I need CTR/WFB cover. Only got Kennar and Isaako at the moment. Rochow > TPJ this week and SST > Murray next week and I'll be able to chill for a few weeks and save my trades.

No way would I be rushing to trade Hiku in, let’s be honest and I’m a Warriors fan so might be just me tempering the expectations a tad of the fantasy players and real life but we have beaten 2 dog shit teams in the Rabs and Titans so far who have created an open game with little structure that SJ and RTS thrive in, let’s wait and see how they go when they get put on the back foot for the whole game and not just in patches when they play the big boys

With 8 subs and an AE of lowest scorer, looping was harder, but was easy enough during bye rounds.
You could also set up team to try and loop with - would have killed the long term prospects of your team but was very viable if you were going for a weekly prize. Back when they still had them weeklies were often won by sniper teams set up just to win that round.

    2) Couldn't you enforce a rule (and I know this would need more thought) that meant that if you put a known injured player (i.e. someone who hasn't been named in the 21 into your 17), you get a zero for that player and don't get an AE?

Most fantasy players are casual players. How much do you want to punish them if they don't update their team one week and play people who were injured the week before. There are better ways of reducing loophole possibilities.
They would have known that ranked subs + rolling lockout = loophole. They want clicks on their website for people checking their team every hour on the weekend.

Any thoughts on Matterson? I've always rated him as a player, and am considering him as a Croft swap but I'm not sure about his role....I'm guessing the 80 mins last week were likely because of Aubo's head breaking in half rather than a regular role?
