Yeah I personally thought it was fractionally forward (also looked worse because of Boyd's shitty passing style IMO).

I think most people wouldn't have minded too much though, as we haven't had a lot of 50/50 calls go our way this year, so it was nice to finally get one.

Yeah, agree, Boyd through a floater with poor technique that to me looked forward out of the hand. Like many of the dummy half shuffle passes you see go about a metre forward. I mean obviously it went forward about 5 or 6 metres given he threw it on or before the line and it was caught about 5 metres forward of that line, but perhaps the ref and touchie thought it went backwards from the hand and that's the rule.

The passing action was totally different to the spiral pass that Maloney threw that in my view was with a backwards motion from the hand.

Still, I'm not losing any sleep over either, good fortune for the Broncos there and a great finish from Oates regardless.

Yeah not sure why the spiral passes have gone out of fashion, so much more accurate and easier to catch - plus they tend to 'look' less like a forward pass IMO.

Maloney's try assist was a forward pass but his earlier pass that was called forward wasn't.......regardless QLD still robbed.

    hahah
    post of the year ozzy!

of course it was forward, just like maloneys

its going to be shit when they pull up one of these forward passes soon and it costs a team a win considering they just let them go more often than not at the moment

Fair chance the NSWRL hurried this through so there wouldn't be an outrage when his name is mentioned for origin 3 after the Maroons tear NSW a new one on Sunday.

Fair chance the loan is not with a banking institution but the NRL so there wont be outrage when his name is mentioned after the Broncos re-sign him.

Lodge has added some much needed starch to our middle. Been excellent for us. Regularly putting up big metres which were missing last year with Blairs usual 35 metres per game, etc.

Officially re-signed now. If journos are to be believed, he did not even speak to any other clubs. He can't undo what he did, but he's going the right way about turning his life around.

Would be a massive dual signing for any team. I hope those Blues don't go to the Broncos.

much as i like the sound of it, i'm not holding my breath, i expected this kind of rumour to pop up at some point, with us looking for a halfback and a coach, it'd be one of the easier things in the NRL to 'hear whispers' about.

Broncos and Roosters always seem to pop up when these rumours start. I'm praying were in the box seat given we've already got Ivan.

Honestly think it's a player manager beat up. "Insert club here". Roosters rumour is 12 months old, Bellyache isn't going to the Broncos "Next". Companies in the 90's/00's worked out that nepotisim is a blocker no matter how professional you are and Ivan isn't that good to seal the deal.

Ivan saying "he would like" 2-3 years ago and reality are 2 different things.

Thaiday retiring at the end of the year.
    What a great career.

Should have retired a few years ago but hey, I would hang on a few extra years for the 4-500k (or more or less).

3rd man thaiday, I wonder if he was ever binned for his 3rd man in's..?

Brilliant performance all round. Honestly can't find a negative from the game even though we should have put 50 on them but to hold them to nil eliminates that factor.

I'm seriously excited by the young players we have in the squad. Find a halfback and keep most of these young guns and we can certainly make another GF in the next couple of years.
