could've been pre-empting what the go-to counter would've been for him using the word 'culture', also possible the interviewer did raise Roberts name in a follow-up, seeing as the quotes are seperated.

lol could be a million things, but he mentioned robert's though so he was talking about off field alcohol related incidents.

Fairly straight forward.

Bennett rarely says things without a reason. I suspect he thinks Pearce plays worse the harder he tries, so has said this in case the Broncos play him in Finals footy, so he thinks “I’ll show that old fart” and proceeds to play his state of origin standard. It also may be about the England team. When the media is talking about what he said, they’re not scrutinising his players.

The bit about Roberts is because he knows the media will make a link about behaviour and Roberts, so this is taking the attention away from Roberts.

I would have thought he was taking the attention away from Lodge by bringing up Roberts - considering Lodge is way more controversial and much more recently signed.

Did Bennett have a duty of care to Hodgson and the Raider's to take him off as soon as there was a suspected serious knee injury?

Dargan signs with the Broncos. Remains to be seen whether he is first grade quality however glad we have him there as backup in case Niko goes down.

Personally I think its a mistake letting him go I thought he was wasted in Qcup last year. Oh well

He was terrible, two left hands. Can't name a worse player with 150+ games not named Blake.

Having said that, it does bring our offseason losses to 6 representative players. Will be a tough slog to make top 4 again. Little aussie battlers.

Also guessing that without releasing Mead (who I am sorry to see go BTW), the NRL would not have registered the signing of Big Sammy Taga......as it would have put us disgustingly over the cap.

Do you have to include waterboys in the cap?

Pretty sure you're using both Brisbane teams cap as a trial so the NRL can gauge if there's enough corporate support for 2 teams.

Ipswich product Jake Turpin has joined the Brisbane Broncos from the Melbourne Storm.

The young hooker played under-20s with the Storm and Intrust Super Cup with the Sunshine Coast Falcons but is hoping to crack the NRL in Brisbane.

“It is definitely warmer than Melbourne,” he said.

“But it has been tough and everything I expected, I am just really happy to be at a great club like the Broncos.

“It is great being back home – mum and dad are only an hour away.”
