    Speaking of J. Brom.

Are J. Bromwich and J. Graham too much of a risk together. (Got NAS, Lodge and Kikau in the wings.)

Also so many people have gone off Hayne.

Really liking the idea of a back 3 of Ponga, Edwards, cheapie. Not going with Tedesco frees up some cash but he is one of the few that can end your season very early if you don't have him.

on mbye - its possible he could get kicking as well as holland may get shafted from the team with montoya/suli taking that wing spot. stilll a tough bet to place as he is priced at 38, so you would expect his output to increase and be a keeper if you choose him

You'd have to say J-Brom due to his fantasy pedigree & his potential return to gun status. But I'm going Liu over him if he starts at lock.

I'm doing something similar but with Tedesco, Ponga, Katoa. I'm thinking with the Roosters opening games he'll thump it. Katoa's times at training has him the fastest at the club. All he needs is half a yard of space & he'll be scoring tries.

I'm tossing up between JBrom and Napa. If I go Napa I can have tedesco, but if I go JBrom I'd have to take Trbojevic

Lots of fast players are poor at fantasy. But at min price it's not like there are safer bets around so as long as you are aware of the risk.

I doubt Holland makes a full strength starting team

I see a few people have commented about the latest podcast. In my opinion it’s an absolute disgrace and has not worth the 33 minutes of your life. A host who is a novice, an X player who doesn’t understand rules/positions and CK who only plays draft/H2H. Is one of the most cringeworthy lessons I’ve ever stumbled across. They are doing their best to turn people off this game. The only interesting point that I found useful was that CK mentioned your captain and vice captain will be locked and it doesn’t appear they can be moved. This means there will be no captains loophole.

Captain/VC may be locked but nobody else is. And with ranked subs it makes loopholing very easy.
Was discussed last thread, consensus was that with only 21 players, sacrificing one to an NPR to allow loophole would not be worth the lost money by having a cash cow instead

Sorry, still can’t reply to a message using my software. I did read the thread about the loophole thoughts. No one is gonna do it because trades are at a premium this year.

Agree, as is money making ability. With less NPR's to make cash you need everyone scoring, and scoring well, not sacrificing someone in "Hope" they can help loophole.

If money making is at a premium, why is everyone filling their team with guys like Kikau and Kennar?

We all better hope trials throw up some better rookie options.

People are doing that just for place fillers until TLT I guess, and the joys of making a team.

I've played this game for many years now and trials do not answer any questions. World Club challenges do but trials don't. Sure trials will throw up names but its not until TLT that we find the real contenders.

We have about 5 weeks of research we can do between the game opening and TLT but only about 50 hours to establish our final teams. Its important for everyone to throw around names, research players and guess potential scenarios so come lockout they are fully prepared because it can be a bit of a rush, especially those with family and work commitments.

JBrom is the only one out of those who has a history of being a consistent gun FRF scorer. His season averages in 16, 15 and 14 were above 50 points, which IF he can return to makes him under priced by something close to 200k. He doesn't play origin like Napa (edit: and maybe RCG?), and with the departure of McLean and a few other key components of the storm team this year also gives him opportunities for an increased workload.

I think he'll be must have this season and will return to his previous scores but it is a very big "if" and lots of people were burnt by him last year and I can understand their hesitation.

From memory, the big thing lacking from JBrom's game last year wasn't workload (he churned through a lot of meters) but the complete disappearance of offloads and attacking stats from his game. He'll need that back to be worth picking up again.
