^ Hope so.
I'd just like to say, "SUCK SHIT ROOSTERS"
they didn't get Brooks (or Johnson) for next year. Although contracts mean nothing these days

Pretty happy brooks stayed with the tigers hey...
I mean, Ted was always going to be the biggest loss to the tigers but jeez Brooks played well for the most of last year. The tigers were killing it at the start of the season too.
Yeah... keep in mind Cronk will retire at the end of the season at the very latest, freeing up a million or so for the Rooster to buy basically who ever they want to play 7.

Dylan Walker rumours to Tigers have just been squashed, (thankfully). In years gone by I wouldn't be confident but this board tend to make better decisions. Hopefully the integrity committee come down hard on him if found guilty.

I didn't have to wait long to eat my words. New recruit Zane Musgrove charged with assault (again) having only been a Tiger a few weeks. https://www.nrl.com/news/2018/12/07/wests-tigers-forward-zane-musgrove-charged-with-indecent-assault-over-hotel-incident/
Sack him, he sounds like a loose cannon.

The NRL has been investigating an undeclared arrangement worth more than $400,000 over four years promised to Farah during his ugly departure from the Tigers in 2016.
It is understood Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe offered the ambassador role to Farah as a show of goodwill as Farah was pushed out of the club because of a fallout with then coach Jason Taylor, who was sacked in early 2017.
As a former captain, life member and player who had made more than 200 appearances for the Tigers, Pascoe believed it was the respectful thing to do by the NSW Origin hooker.
Farah ultimately left and joined South Sydney, with the Tigers forced to pay $750,000 of his whopping $900,000 salary for the 2017 season.
He made a fairytale return to the Tigers midway through last season, played his 250th match and will now line up next year alongside long-time teammate Benji Marshall for one final season.
There is no suggestion that Farah or his agent, Sam Ayoub, have done anything wrong. Nevertheless, the Tigers are preparing themselves for a significant breach notice to be handed to them this week.
They are angry because Farah has not accepted the deal and it has had no influence on their salary cap. Their only mistake was not declaring it to the NRL — because they didn’t know they had to.

agree with pascoe being de-registered and the 639 counting towards the tigers cap but the fine seems excessive compared to what parra got under the same NRL admin
then again, i thought the dogs mad Monday fines were to harsh, maybe we're looking at bigger fines for everything now

Looks we have $639K to spend on Wade Graham in 2020.
It shows incompetence is what it does. We tried to be tricky and it back fired. If Robbie had have retired from Souths last year as planned it wouldn't have counted to the cap. The minute it was suggested he come back something should have been done to resolve it. It wasn't like the ambassodor contract was a secret and of course it was going to count, best case scenario you argue he hasn't retired so it doesn't count till next year.

Don't know enough to comment at the moment but the penalty seems harsh compared to Manly. Need to do some reading

There must be more to this story than whats been published as the punishment doesn't fit the crime, I just don't get it. Fair enough the NRL should have been informed so as to prove no salary cap advantage but to de-register the CEO and add so much to our cap is just too much.
I can't understand why this needs to go onto our salary cap when Robbie left us, it was no advantage to us as we were not intending on Robbie returning as a player. And reports are saying he hasn't agreed to the ambassadorial role anyway. I bet the Roosters aren't currently paying for Minichello to be their ambassador. Admittedly $639K over 4 years is too much for an ambassadorial role but not all of it should be added to our cap. Pay him $400K with $239 added to our cap
This happened 2 months after Pascoe became CEO and looks more like an accidental oversite then a deliberate manipulation of the salary cap, so to de-register him is way too harsh.
This punishment is looking more like an attempt to sink the boot in, in hope we fold or relocate out of Sydney.
This mistake is the same punishment as a Flanagan who has been caught deliberately cheating the system 2 times, at least he got a second chance. Similar players get second chances and less punishment for much bigger crimes. If this "new" hard stance punishment is anything to go by, then the 5 recent players charged with sexual assault should be banned for life too, if found guilty.
Pascoe was a breath of fresh air to the Tigers, which is what the NRL wanted, but now they want him out. FFS,its too harsh a punishment, as its been pointed out elsewhere its like getting a 5 year prison sentence for not paying a toll.

I agree, more or less. I mean - i think it's probably a deliberate attempt to top up Wobbie's back-end contract, and they may or may not have thought they'd get away with it, but it's not (on the surface) as structured as the Sharks ongoing bullshit.
So, is there more or less to it, or did the NRL just think they could lay the boot in, because, you know.... it's just the Tigers? Probably a bit of a long bow to think it's an attempt to get them to fold though
Hope not. My mate will neck himself if they go

It wasn't a deliberate attempt to back end a contract, because he didn't play for us. But we tried to hide / downplay it and that's why the CEO goes.

Not sure about the fact we tried to hide it as it was announced in the media many times. The NRL are just trying to put the boot into us. This article is a good read and makes us appear in a better light.

Its like the NRL don't want the Tigers to be successful, we've been down for so many years and they're happy for us to be there but we are emerging so the NRL want to put us back down.

Good start to the new year by Tigers, first team to make negative headlines.
