With Hodgson doing his acl there's going to be some good bargains at hooker at the Raiders. Both Baptiste & Garvey priced at bottom dollar.

Didn't they let Baptise go? I remember reading something like that

He was going to the English Super League but the deal fell through at the last minute apparently.

Apparently the Raiders have just signed Havili if Paul Kent is to be believed so the hooking choices at the Raiders will be:
Baptiste - is injury prone & seems to suit coming off the bench when the game is more open
Garvey - signed from Bulldogs & he was a bit of a fantasy gun when he got an extended run at the Bulldogs a couple of years ago
Havili - apparently Paul Kent said he has just signed. I think he was at the Dragons. Played well for Tonga at the world cup
Austin - a left field pick mentioned on the Raiders forum. They have signed Sam Williams so if Austin plays hooker then Williams can slot into the halves
Out of those I would prefer Garvey from a fantasy perspective.

They've signed Sam Williams again!

Who is the player who is returning to his home town next season for ‘family reasons’?
Family reasons is an interesting way of putting it - his wife caught him out cheating with TWO different women and gave him an ultimatum - we go home or I’m taking the kids back alone!

He is like that ex booty call who keeps coming back into your life for a short period every few years. Hard tp resist as they do the job when other options are out injured but still not worthy of a permanent spot.SI wrote:

Leilani Latu has been granted a release from Penrith to sign a 3 year deal with the Titans. This deal had to happen so Penrith could sign Maloney as they had to free up money re the cap.

Looks like he'll be replacing Brenton Lawrence who has retired effective immediately.

Wow that's unexpected because I was reading an article on the Titans forum where he says he's feeling fit & he was raring to go for 2018.

Would love Latu on the bench at the Tigers. Absolute weapon in short stints.

Sounds like Pearce has signed for the Knights. If true there's some interesting ramifications:
(a) Who plays in the halves at Manly. Could Cullen get a crack, Hastings probably more likely with his goalkicking or maybe even Lamb signs. But would the Knights be prepared to release Lamb when Hodkinson is on the books at 500k a year.
(b) Who will partner Pearce in the halves at the Knights. Before his signing the halves would have been Lamb & Watson. Does Watson go back to the bench as a utility like he was at the Roosters but he wouldn't be happy with that since he signed for the Knights to play 80 minutes & to not be a bench utility. Does Lamb go to Manly opening the possibility that Ponga could do the goalkicking.
