Yeah certainly a lot more challenging from that perspective but I probably find it the least enjoyable as a result.
And having said that the additional trading with the other comp's creates different but just as difficult (if not more) challenges.

I would have though the format of this game leads you to making early calls on players, thus encouraging trading - which you are then limited by.

I get that is the challenge but I personally find that just frustrating and annoying and is why I spend the least amount of time on this game.

Mate, I personally would be a bit scared with only 3 trades but Fui to Turbo sounds mighty tempting.  Maybe hope Maloney doesn't back up and NuBrown gets a run?  If you can field 17 then I'd probably play it safe.  Looking at your team though, a third half wouldn't hurt.  probably take the gamble and hope you can get Pearce.  If not Cleary looking great for the run home too.

EDIT:  Jsut saw it looks like you'll only be able to run with the two halves moving Munster down.  That's not the end of the world if Cleary or Pearce is your second half.

Yep that's my plan with RTS,swap him to Pearce through Munster and have SJ and Pearce and Munster Mansour and Edwards at the back with Hayne as 18th man. Just need to hope I can close the gap in the next week or two to straight swap them

215th mate, last week killed me but hope to make up some ground in the home stretch.

So Fifita playing Origin and has a baby due any day. I don't like the chances of him backing up. I'm preparing not to have him in my team this week I think. Happy to be wrong of course.

Don't think I need to trade this week. Leaves me with 3 for the run in after making 2 next week.

haha, yeah given our similarity in squads it makes sense that last week was also a bit painful for myself too.

    I'm sitting at 102.

Really need to make the right captain call this week. Still hurting after Edwards last week.

Option A: Hope RTS can make up the 13k difference I need to trade him to Pearce

Option B: Trade RTS to DCE and hope Fui can make up the difference (roughly 25k) to trade to Turbo

Option C: Trade Munster for Pearce and RTS to Turbo or Tedesco (don't really like this one)

    Opinions please?

Since you have 3 trades I think C is out. I think you have more chance of A than B, but not sure what their BE's are.

I think RTS is 32,Pearce 69. Fui is 19 and Turbo is 29 I think so yes that one isn't likely. I guess the real question is is Pearce worth waiting for?

I've had some pretty ordinary scores from my captains in the last 6 or 7 rounds, I've lost a fair bit of ground there alone.

Making the right choice week in week out is make or break, I'm hoping for a bit of luck from here on in so I can peg back some ground.

I can bring in one of Fifita or JTrbo for Elliot for the run home. Dismissing the possibility Fifita won't play cause of his new baby, who would you guys go for?

Current ~300th and just keen to get as high as possible so up for a high risk player if it means more potential reward!

I like JTrbo as he is an 80 minute player. Those low minutes that Fifita plays makes him so unstable. Like a Star @ heaven

Having a POD or high risk player is the most obvious way of making up ground on the leaders but...............

Not having someone like Fifita who will have an even higher ownership after Origin could set you back even further expecially if he goes really big.

My vote is for Fifita, he has the ability to score very quickly and doesn't need 80mins to post a big score. In beast mode he is unstoppable and a must have.

    Thanks mate.

One thing I noticed with Fifita, which may just be a coincidence, is that he seemed to pick up his fantasy game (perhaps his real game?) in the lead up to Origin selection. Im wondering if his form will continue to be at that standard for the rest of the season or not? Does anyone know off the top of their heads, or can find out how he went at the tail end of last season?

    Cheers

Think I'll just bring in Teddy and JTurbo this week, this rounds team will be.

    McInnes
    Fifita, Kapow
Crichton, Surgess, Gallen, Taumalolo, JTurbo, JDB
    Cleary, DCE
    TTurbo, Croker, Hayne
    Edwards, Tedesco, Mansour

Leaves me 3 trades and 164k, to hopefully grab Smith next round and see how the season pans out from there.

I would probably agree with that.

I have also been looking at Fifita but am probably leaning towards holding off for a game or two post SOO because his scores seem to have dropped off over the SOO period.

Thought it may have been reduced minutes but it doesn't appear to be.
In fact his highest score this year has been during nearly his shortest game time (49 mins) and it didn't involve a try.....just a shitload of tackle breaks which may indicate the less game time he has the harder he goes and the more stats he racks up
