Sorry about the link size.... but it is now confirmed J Bird off to the Broncos on a 3 year deal. Gutted as a Sharks fan. We gave him his start, introduced him to Origin and topped it off with a premiership. Amazing how ur fave player can now become a has been.

Back to fantasy guys... just wanted to get that out there.
But we've re-signed Capewell. A much better value signing. Reports from weeks ago said he had already signed with the Tigers, so that's good news.
I must be the only Sharks fan that feels this way but I'm mostly glad we didn't have to blow a huge chunk of cap space on Bird.

After my sensational start to the year, I'm starting my 2018 planning a little earlier than usual.
Does anyone have any data on Sandor Earl and what price do people think he will start at ?

Last week Souths had an identical side. Here's the stats. Why would the minutes change? Robbie got almost 40 and it didn't effect either 2nd rower. Madge likes a strong middle with big fresh guys coming off the bench and 2 ball running, tackling edge forwards. Sam runs amok and Farah and Cook go probing. At the most Sutton or Crichton get rested for 10. Souths for Premiers. cheer

Reportedly 700k per year. Seems like a reasonable deal to me. I don't think he's been bought to play in the halves. CourierMail said yesterday that Bennetts plan is to play him as a ball playing lock. Mcguire would be going back to prop.

I read an article yesterday saying we will be going to market for a half in a months time.

The Tele and SMH had the figure at 3.6mil over 3 years and to play 5/8 as he wants to be part of the spine so was only interested in teams offering that.

I guess it depends who you want to believe then.

James Phelps from the DT tweeted earlier that Milford has been told he will stay at 6 next year and Bird will be lock. Few other CM journos saying the same thing.

Simplest answer is that south's play like busteds, lose and Madge gets the shits? I legitimately don't know, why didn't he run like this to start with if this is how he likes it? Was there some injury he was sweating on?

If I was a club and a players demands included dictating what position they will be playing or to be 'part of the spine' id tell them to Jog on, and take their ego with them.

You'll play where I think youre best suited and youll do a good job as a team player.

Timed my flight terribly and Gatwick is boring,  Turns out I do have time to look at my team then i guess. Currently thinking Yates to Leary so i have cash for lamb/jacks (maybe jacks is the smart choice given time is short for him?). Sound solid enough?

WT Winfield wrote:Something from the other thread re Milf as 18th man

I had Milf all last year as 3rd half behind Cleary and BHunt to close out the season, and he doesn't work well as an 18th man since Broncos play early almost every week. He usually had to creep into the 17 and thankfully he finished okay.. usually 40s I think. After his boom start last year, the rest was pretty painful though.

He definitely looks to have some upside with BHunt out, but I think Macca will continue to kick long often, and KNik will probably try to help out.. Don't really remember Milf kicking long much.

Milf's averaging 146 KM so far this season if that interests anyone.
. Not so much as an injury cover 18th man more so as a risk play if I want to run the risk of sacrificing a steady 50 from say Cleary at seasons end for the potential of an 80 or a 15 from Milf. He might not do much extra kicking but the donkeys will run more through him in Hunts absence than when he plays with KNiko so extra points may come that way. He is pretty cheap ATM also and plays 12

I'm not sure if it's always ego. Players usually want these positional changes because it's like getting a promotion. Better pay, possibly better career prospects etc. If you think you deserve a promotion and your current job doesn't but somewhere else does, i don't think taking it is an ego thing.

From Wacko, it's sounding like Munster will play and Frawley will come from the bench again. That's bad on both counts. Was going to play Jacks over Lamb and hopefully trade in Frawley.

This is only true if the player believes they're playing out of position. I'm still inclined to think that players sign up to play a role in a team not a position.

I don't really think a 22 year old kid is dictating terms to Bennett and the Broncos, do you?

I have noticed that Wacko seems to be more accurate since joining the Fox crew

Because Queensland stay loyal to last year's players & also Slater will play.
