Cartright will surely play, its just PR/HR spin from the Panthers, damage control. (though I guess maybe they could leave him out so it appears they're 'doing something').

This crap with him is old news, the media just decided it was time to run a story on it. Panthers are full of shit to say they had no knowledge of it.

ive been tempted to downgrade surgess. now would be the best time to do it. but i will wait another week and check his minutes first. if he stayed for 80 i reckon he woulda been close to 50 points. he also disappeared in the game for 10 minutes hiding in defence, so you would have to assume he was gassed.

    Good morning gents,

Had a good start in the first round, probably more good luck than good management saw me finish up with 855. Could've been a lot higher if I didn't get cold feet and switch the captaincy from JDB to Smith on game day. More captaincy conundrums this week  Bang

Anyway used 2 trades this week to make some adjustments, basically the same trades every man and his dog are making  Lol

    D Saifiti to Wallace
    Pythian to Moga

Only 18k left in the bank which was a worry so it led me to look at other options like Musgrove instead of Wallace, S Mat to the centres and NPR front rower. this gave me 118k in the bank but the team didn't look as strong, taking a gamble with a lower bank account and running with this for now.

    Anyone have any other suggestions?

    Smith (VC) Brailey (r)
    McGuire, Wallace, Yates, Papalii
    JDB (C) Gallen, Surgess, S Mat (r) Sironen (r) Kaufusi (r)
    Norman, Lamb, Elgey, Jacks
    Talakai, Moga, Idris, Kelly
    RTS, Hayne, Mitchell, Cotric, Sulli

Nope, he will come off the bench.

Unsure how he will be used but would assume bennett would throw him in at dummy half for 10-15 mins?

Wayne Bennett said benji is playing then later clarified that it's for Redcliffe. Just toying with us and I jumped too quick.

Apparently DWZ will play so any potential Dylan Edwards buyers don't buy.

For anyone that was worried, Josh Mcguire trained freely this morning and is a certain starter.

"WAYNE Bennett has confirmed his final team for the blockbuster against the North Queensland Cowboys tomorrow night.

The NRMA Insurance Broncos are set to trot out the same 17 that defeated the Cronulla Sharks last week to open the season."

SI wrote:I think Barnett is the safer bet as you are suggesting.

If Lolo gets those minutes going forward then he will be ridiculous, but that's s big if. He is also up and down with his Fantasy plays, whereas Barnett is all base stats.

The only thing with Barnetts minutes is they may have changed because he came off when not originally planned to, so there is the possibility he was not going to play quite that many? As in, the injury could have changed the pack rotation and Barnett actually got more minutes due to it. Doubtful, but a possibility.

Bullbender wrote:Mate im doing the same trade and its being doing my head in which way to go. Lowe and Gooper both played 80 majority of last year, Lowes minutes dropped near the end from memory. I wrote in a post earlier this week that i think Lolo may be filling in the void for the absence of Tamou and Hannant as he plays and has the size of a frontrower, though 290 metres is ridiculous if he can sustain 200 that would be ridiculous! Plus the other consideration is Fensom coming in and how he will be used. Shouldn't matter when Lolo assumes the position of prop but you have to consider it. Then have Lowe Hess Fensom fighting over minutes in the backrow as Gooper is the golden child and will always get 80. Lolo played 4 extra minutes but one run he net around 10 points in GP, with a few TBs and a 20 odd metre run.
Barnett is purely base stats, and playing for Newcastle, he should get plenty. But the minutes are still uncertain with that injury giving more minutes amongst the pack when Smat moved to centre. I would assume Smat and Buhrer play 80 each more often than not.
At the moment im slightly leaning towards Lolo for 2 reasons
    1) Because SI just said he preferred Barnett
2)Because he has more potential for that one big play where he can net 20-30 points although Barnett has the potential to put through a grubber for a try. Although it worked i think Browny has barred him from further kicking duties.

Thanks a lot for the replies. I am just going to take Barnett... but if Lolo starts playing 60-70 a game it won't be long until I have to pick him up too.

Barnett signed for another 3 years with the Knights.  Watch him fucking go off now even more now.  Definitely one to pick up.

Top 10 traded in and out players and biggest price drops

Luke Keary sitting in 5th place for traded in
Tom Trbo also sitting in 5th for traded out
Elliot Whitehead in 2nd place for losing 27k last week

WOW! Has to be rookies bringing Keary in. I would imagine there is a few veterans trading Turbo out hit that is ridiculous as well. No ball and was an inch away from a 25 point play. Although admittedly he did look sluggish.

    Original Knights game plan was
Buhrer 80min with a positional switch later in the 2nd half
    SMat 80min
    Barnett 60min

I like Barnett much more for base stats. Looked very good on the weekend and went off with a knock - so he was meant to play more minutes.

Lolo played 70 mins last week. There was OT but wasn't he like a 50min dude in 2016? There wasn't any injuries that forced a change in rotations from what I remember of the game.

    Lolo - 70
    Lowe - 57
    Cooper - 84
    Hess - 34
    Asiata - 27
    Scott - 60
    Bolton - 51
    Kaufusi - 37

I didn't watch the positional rotations, but it looks like Hess comes on in the back row, while Asiata/Kaufusi come into the FR. I can't find tog for 2016, but I was sure Lolo was around 50 with Lowe around the 70. Is there a change here? If so then Lolo could be a very good buy.

Atm I have Barnett in line for a trade in, but Lolo is under serious consideration.

Mate im doing the same trade and its being doing my head in which way to go. Lowe and Gooper both played 80 majority of last year, Lowes minutes dropped near the end from memory.
