Or best to just suck it up and get Smith and be done with it?

Every year we ask the same question about to start with or without CS9. And every year he gives us the same answer back. Be done with it mate you know its right

Smith was the first one I put in my team as soon as Fantasy opened and his smiling face has been cemented there ever since.

152k for a starting ctr in moga is a low risk boys, injury concerns or not.
he must be your 4th reserve, otherwise you gotta run with scott or suli (or chee kam) who werent named.
chee kams role to me is second rower placeholder till lovett comes back round 3..

im going el cheapo ctrs this year. no other way baby

Hi guys, back from my mates stag but been too tired to properly catch up on all the news, how has TLT affected peoples line ups

My main toss up now is between Mcinnes + Field/Hingano or Brailey + Norman

still thinking Mcinnes plays close to 80 and Field if he stays in 17 just straight spells McCrone so still my main focus

This is the best I can come up with the team sheets we have. I'm over it to be quite honest.

My thinking is Jai Field will come on for McInnes and McCrone will shift to HOK.

Field could be a Niko and come on for 10 and score 4 points, but if Dragons struggle again, he could get the call up down the track. It's a flip of a coin.

Is POD a euphemism for Average? For all the "overpriced money hogging" of Smith and Fifita, I can't see where you've spent that money nor the money saved from running 2 cheap hookers? 3 mid range front rowers and 2 non-rookie centres?

There is an upside to everyone I have chosen, unlike Smith and Fifita and DeBelin and Mannering can both score like Smith and Fifita without the price tag. The only upside I am a bit concerned about is Wallace and of course Korosai, but Wallace will increase in minutes and points, and while Korosau would be super awesome if Hastings was not on the scene, he is not for now, and because I am going high risk I need a bit of a plan to fix things up. N. Brown will be on the edge of a gun, and will be the one giving Pritchard a rest from 80 minutes.

I pity the poor people stuck with centres that score 20 to 25 with no pathways forward. Pritchard and Brailey will score 35 to 40 ish each (potentially more)

Bennett has started a bolter in the backs three years in a row.

    2015: whitchurch
    2016: eden
    2017: moga

Whitchurch and eden barely lasted two rounds

Mate dont do that. 300K you could spend now could be spent on another player who could score you 100 odd points in the next few weeks. There is no guarantee Holmes will be back next week then he is just sitting there.

    Thats my 2c anyway.

That's fair enough, but there is no one at that price or cheaper that I'm interested in and I don't want to reshuffle the whole team to fit in someone more expensive.

You'd think if Holmes was named on the extended bench that he's a chance of playing, so at worst I think next week he'll be back.

I'm comfortable benching him and hopefully getting a 30+ score from his replacement in the meantime

We shall have to agree to disagree on that I think. It's one of the situations where the whole is not greater than the sum of its parts. It will take a lot of those midrangers to have great weeks all at once, and consistently, to turn that high risk into a reward. Koro might have a great week and score 50 but Wallace might have a rubbish one and score 25. If you run that team your cajones are bigger than mine.

Also, to match Smith+Fifita every week with the top 2 guns in that team would be difficult. I would bank on those two to score minimum 180 points each week (assuming one is captained), but I wouldn't bank on JDB+Mannering doing the same, consistently.
