I'm not sure why there is this thought that Metcalf will have any impact on SJ's scoring? Surely SJ will play the same role he has all year and Metcalf will play the same role TMM/Walker/Volkman have

In what way? Don’t see SJ losing the dominant half kicking role to a rookie

Agreed, I can’t see him taking any significant kicking meters off SJ or being asked to create. He’s likely the perfect runner off SJ to be put through holes and give SJ TA’s. People need to remember Metcalf is a skilled Fullback runner.

There is a chance I'm going on a double date with Naomi Campbell and Charlize Theron at a jelly wrestling bar this weekend, so yes, there is a chance Hopgood plays edge.

I will likely regret it when a healthy Ponga scores 98 but oh well.

He's going to be motivated to put on a show, and back at fullback, so should miss less tackles.

70 minutes MID, 10 EDG works fine.

I feel Metcalf isn't a "rookie" - He didn't come to NZ to play reserves/2nd fiddle, he'll want to show his hand aswell

Under Hook you can bet Bird and JdB just would’ve played as de facto halves (and we lose comfortably anyway) so hoping the new coach at least tries something else. He has nothing to lose - he’s basically got no chance of getting the job next year.

Will take it as a win if we lose by less than we beat the Dolphins by last time and the young guys show something.

I am expecting Sullivan to show up Amone and take the 6 jersey from here.

    Bird, Lemmy
    Drinkwater, Ponga, Bula

    Cleary, Hynes, Fifita, Hosking,
    Manu, Oloapu, Billy Smith, Sele

Sele is locked in for a trade next week to Turpin (if named).

All the best everyone. See you on the other side.

Robson, Tatola and DBrown vs JMK, Tohu and Katoa, and you're 7 points ahead...

Manly won’t be good without dce and turbo and jurbo imo

Haumole is the Manly attack when they aren't playing, its like the Ponga effect on Miller.

    Haumole average:
    - Without Turbo - 58
    - With Turbo - 44

    - Without DCE - 71
    - With DCE - 48

He's got two first grade starts (one where he only played 30 mins) and 5 appearances off the bench. He's not a rookie, but he's pretty bloody close.

He also runs an increased risk of HIA the more involved he gets. Also, if he does dominate and QLD don't, he could find himself unavailable in future bye rounds. Wait and see for me.

Wish all you taking the plunge luck though, I want to see him get through another round unscathed, I really do.

Flip a coin. I feel like Katoa vs Dylbags is where you’ll get me.
Likely all in vain tho, as I’m pretty sure Booze is gonna run away with it through this bye period.

    Metcalf

    CONS:
coming off hamstring injury, job security risk, not basement price.

    PROS:
    BUILT FOR FANTASY

I for one am trading him in.

Trying to find the  Balls to stick the C on Tapine. He has to get good minutes with that bench (right Ricky?!) and would be punting on a boom game.

Crazy though, cannot locate balls large enough.
