they're are all just guess-timates though, originally when he did the injury they said 4 to 6 weeks. four weeks has him back in rnd 15/16.

won't really know until he's ready to go though.

fainu might not even have the spot in two weeks time.

as i said i'd take the punt if i could, just already have 3 mids.

    Agreed MTB.
My 3 Mids are JDB / Tapine / Harris, so I have no place for him.
(It's scary to think how much selling Haas added to my bank)

    A)Bird
    B)Moses/SJ
    C)Drinkwater

    Bye team as it stands

    Cook
    JDB Tapine Horse
    Host Hopgood
    Crossland Katoa
    Lemuelu
    Ponga Garrick

With this halves, I'd be aiming at Johnson / Moses.

I know Simply the Best went forever and is the iconic RL promotion, and always will be now that media has changed, but the montage for the 1989 one and the way it syncs to the lyrics is superb. Great production values for the time.

Yep. That's how the story went. I just love the fact that the producers had named ET etc. for the video and Cliffy got to star instead.

Bird is the long term play and should be in every team but it depends who your regular halves are. The team above does look weak in the halves but that could be because you already have both Cleary and Hynes.

Yeah I have both of them so I guess I’m leaning towards Bird,I’m just trying to work out whether it’s worth losing Haas to get him in. I don’t mind the idea of having SJ or Moses in my team too though

Thanks for that, you don’t think it’s overkill to have one of those plus Hynes and Cleary?

Using all four trades this week (will still have 16 left):

    Boyd-Bird
Haas-Hopgood [still unsure on Haas vs Carrigan]
    Turbo-Ponga
    Cheese-Cook

Good for this week and gives me four potential keepers for the rest of the season. Means 11 on the paddock this week:

    Cook
    JDB Horse Tatola
    Hopgood Ford
    SJ Nikorima
    Bird Lemuelu
    Ponga XX XX

    Going forward, squad looks like:

    Cook
    JDB Horse Carrigan
    Hopgood Fifita
    Cleary SJ
    Bird Lemuelu
    Teddy Manu Ponga

    Preston Tatola Edwards Ford
    Bula Nikorima Alamoti Warbrick

He's one of the top EDG players fantasy wise, I'm sure he'll get plenty of minutes over this origin period, and he'll be great come rd16.
I'll re-asses after Origin when the Panthers are back to full strength

I was in the same boat but holding off as he plays until round 19 after this week's bye.

mattnz wrote:Have finally landed on my final MID for the week, can't really go past Fainu.

Starting EDG at $220k (only available at MID, would hope he gets EDG as well, has been playing 80 minutes on the EDG each week in reserve grade, so is his natural position and averaging 42 there).

Plays the first 2 major byes, with the 2nd bye hard to fill with MIDs, and the guy he is replacing, Tuilagi hasn't been playing great, could be a chance to lock down that spot. If he does, he could be a guy that many regret missing out on at base price.

In a round where no other cheap cows have emerged with any job security, he looks to be the best of the bunch to enable other trades this week, and allows a single trade to grab Teddy next week, for Katoa.

What do you think the chances are of Fainu getting DPP?
From what I understand they next DPP updates are after round 13 and Manly are on the bye, meaning he’d have played a total of one game there named in that position and no look to see if he’s named there round 14.
They’ve been pretty stingy on handing the DPP out.

It's a risk but when you're looping Niko and Crossland 'the stakes ain't high'

Was really anticipating the least shittest score between Hands and Granville until I realised they were playing each other. Granville it is!
