Seems like that should put an end to the rumours that Fifi was going to miss out, doesn’t matter for next week, but iirc Holbrook has been pretty careful with his origin players backing up in terms of limited minutes and such

I’ve got Tapine, Horse, Boyd, & Hedwards to play + Sele and Kniko scores to be added. 782/13C

Probably going to go from a surplus of EDGs to only having a benched Host lol (Frizell and Hopgood)

- Dally M medal winner Nicho Hynes has earned his dream NSW jersey.
The Cronulla Sharks star has been selected in Brad Fittler’s Blues side for Origin I on May 31.
Fittler phoned the game’s most consistent player after the Sharks comprehensive 26-6 win over Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.
Hynes’ selection is reward for a stunning 18-months of elite-level football.
Capable of playing fullback, five-eighth or halfback, Hynes is tipped to wear the Blues No.14 jersey.
Penrith’s Jarome Luai is expected to retain the NSW no.6 jersey after a month of quality football alongside Blues halfback Nathan Cleary.

Meanwhile, Tyson Frizell’s return to State of Origin is complete.
It is understood that the Knights have been notified of Frizell’s selection in the NSW side and also been told that Daniel Saifiti is in the mix pending the outcome of Sunday’s games.
Frizell played the last of his 14 games for NSW three years ago but has been outstanding for the Knights this year.
Saifiti’s selection is likely to hinge on whether Manly forward Jake Trbojevic makes it through the Sea Eagles game against Canberra.
It is understood that Kalyn Ponga and Dane Gagai are set to be named in the Queensland squad.
ORIGIN D-DAY: NSW BLUES LIKELY TEAM REVEALED
D-Day has arrived for NSW coach Brad Fittler with the State of Origin selection of attacking weapons Josh Addo-Carr and Tom Trbojevic down to 80-minutes.
The performances of the duo is paramount to Fittler’s final make-up of his side to face shield-holders Queensland in Origin I on May 31 at the Adelaide Oval.
In the countdown to the biggest game of the year, the 2023 NSW State of Origin team will enter a 10-day camp at Coogee in Sydney from Monday morning.
Addo-Carr and Trbojevic’s last shot at impressing Fittler has emerged amid other key NSW team selection decisions uncovered by The Sunday Telegraph.
Tom Trbojevic and Josh Addo-Carr have 80-minutes to prove to Brad Fittler they should be in the NSW Blues team for Game I.
They include:
● South Sydney’s Damien Cook reporting no concerns over a neck injury suffered on Friday night is now poised to be named the Blues only hooker in the team ahead of Wests Tigers dummy-half Api Koroisau.
● Penrith’s Jarome Luai is favourite to remain at five-eighth with main rival and Sharks Dally M winner Nicho Hynes in line for a spot on the NSW bench.
● Neither Panthers star Stephen Crichton or Rabbitohs strike-weapon Campbell Graham are locked in, with one, or both, set to be used on the wing or at centre depending on the fitness of Addo-Carr and Trbojevic.
● Penrith’s Liam Martin is set to be chosen despite an injury-plagued season of just four games since March.
● Knights veteran Tyson Frizell is on the verge of playing in his first Origin since 2020.
● Roosters and NSW Origin captain James Tedesco allaying any fears his confidence is down ahead of the series with a return to his best form on Friday night that included 175 run metres, 10 tackle busts, two tries and two try assists.
All eyes for the Blues will be on both Sunday afternoon fixtures with the team far from settled just hours before it is announced.
Canterbury’s 2pm clash with the Titans will be Addo-Carr’s first appearance in the NRL since limping from the field six weeks ago on Good Friday.
Controversially overlooked for NSW selection in last year’s series, Addo-Carr has pushed his body over the last month to recover from foot surgery.
He was cleared on Thursday by the Dogs medical staff to make his comeback against the Titans, leaving him one match to show Fittler he belongs back in the sky-blue jersey.
NSW want to pick the flyer, but must see that he hasn’t lost any of his speed and power.
“If Josh Addo-Carr gets through the game and if he isn’t hobbling after the game and the ankle is good, and he’s running fast, I think that’s all Josh needs to do,’’ Alexander said on Fox Sports this week.
“He needs to just get through the match and play as he would.
“If he can not be hampered by that ankle and it‘s the old Josh Addo-Carr, well they’ll be good signs for Josh.’’
The fitness of not only Trbojevic, but brother Jake Trbojevic is also a concern for the Blues.
The Manly duo face the Raiders in Canberra at 4pm in a match of major consequence for NSW.
Trbojevic is attempting to prove he can overcome the mental demons from a groin issue that have impacted his ability to display the world-class running game he possesses.
The Blues are refusing to rule a line through Trbojevic, one of the Blues best players last series. He is being considered at both centre and on the NSW wing with a spot on the wing possible if Addo-Carr is considered unfit.
If he’s ultimately overlooked, Crichton and Graham would battle for his spot in the team.
Jake is also fighting to overcome a calf issue that has left him sidelined.
The unavailability of Jake would be a monumental blow for NSW, who are reeling from a dearth of available forwards with Daniel Saifiti also in the mix for a call-up.
Reagan Campbell-Gillard (groin), Keaon Koloamatangi (ankle), Spencer Leniu (ruptured testicle), Shaun Lane (hamstring) and Siosifa Talakai (neck) are currently on the sidelines.
The anticipated selection of Cook as the Blues only hooker would prove a significant change for NSW who went with the one-two punch of Cook and Koroisau in the last two Origin matches played.
However, Cook has proven he can play 80-minutes at the elite level, while the omission of Koroisau allows the Blues to select a player with utility value like Hynes. Hynes is ahead of Matt Burton for the bench spot.
Martin‘s bustling performance against the Broncos on Thursday night was enough to convince the selectors to pick him after just two games back. Martin was such a success in the middle of the field that he may spend some time there in Origin.
The likes of skipper James Tedesco, Brian To’o, Latrell Mitchell, Nathan Cleary, Isaah Yeo, Cameron Murray, Junior Paulo and Payne Haas are certain selections.

It's absolute carnage. Going to be lots of teams playing very short over the origin period. What are people thinking trades wise, use em all up by round 19 and hope the extras are enough to carry the rest of the season?

Get outta here with that BS! We need Murray, Martin and Frizell so we can lose again for the good of my fantasy team.
You could just move Bird and Lemuelu to EDG and Host can still be surplus

Will have to adjust my plans, was planning to bring in Hynes and Oloapu in R14 as my halves pairing for 16, but if it looks like Hynes will miss 16,17 and 19 I’ll just have to keep hiding behind the couch during sharks games
