None of them are deliberate. Just like no one ever deliberately takes someone high.
They are trying to change the players technique. I don't agree with how they are going about it but they are clearly trying to get rid of it.

I believe they changed that a couple of years ago and if the tackle is finished off it isn't a missed tackle for an ankle tap anymore.

Yeah I should watch a replay again but it didn't look like a hip drop at all. They're just calling anything where weight ends up on legs as a hip drop. But hey I didn't think Haas' really was either

If Leniu didn't get hurt it probably doesn't even get looked at
NRL just react to injuries. Same with Haas, if RCG played on then nothing comes of it

Player doesn't stay down injured in that one and it's play on I reckon.

The over zealous application of sin bins and sanitising it is the real blight in the game
