It's funny how often people suggest Cleary might get an early shower. Take out the game he got sent off and he averaged 79.7 minutes and has been rested 9 times from nearly 150 games while his team has been historically dominant. If there was a market for over 78.5 minutes I'd be taking the over

Different when under an injury cloud, playing Tigers though.

This got me thinking.  If you could have one of Hynes or Cleary in your NRL team, who would you pick?   Hynes has closed the gap enormously.

I think I'd take Cleary pretty comfortably. Younger, proven to do it in big games and done it over a longer time period. Cleary seems to add to the tool kit every single offseason

I probably enjoy watching Hynes more

In real life it's still Cleary without any hesitation for me. Plenty of big game experience now, finals and origin. Seen him execute in plenty of big moments. Look at that drop goal to force OT a little while back, just pulled off that mega clutch play with ice in his veins like nothing. Seen him make much bigger plays on D as well.

Personally I'd take Munster and DCE over Hynes for now as well (ignoring age) because again so much experience in big moments.

I feel like, even though I don't like Melbourne or Queensland, that Munster doesn't get anywhere near the credit he deserves. Like everyone accepts he's good, but he's so fucking good, can break games apart with ease, his energy brings others up around him, and he's just got that when everything is on the line give me the fucking ball and I'll give you some magic to him.

Munster terrifies me more than any other opposition player. Cleary and the Panthers will grind away, strangling until you make an error or give away a penalty. Munster doesn't care if his team is on top, fast play the ball, slow play the ball, 5 metres out or 95 metres out. He is coming for you and there is nothing you can do about it

Manu has to be the best non kicking 6 in the comp right? You would have him in your team at 6 over anyone except Munster (Who kicks). Surprised that it has taken them this long to realise the obvious.

Hot take Manu is a terrible 6. Struggles to set up his outside man and stalls attacks with bad decision making. But he is an elite level ball runner and super hard to tackle which covers for some of his deficiencies. I'd take Dylan Brown, Dearden and Luai over him. If Moylan was 5 years younger I'd take him as well

i like this take, i think give manu the position and coach him he can become elite level

right now hes not a great six, but he can defintely be come one of the greats

Good time for MS 5/8 tier list

    1 - Munster
2 - DBrown, Dearden, Luai, Walker
3 - Mam, Keary, Moylan, Foran, Wighton, Ponga, Burton
    4 - Doueihi
    5 - Schuster
    6 - TMM, IKat, Amone

Manu would slot in at tier 4

Mam might seem a little high to some but I think he is the best kick chase half in the comp, has a great running game and solid defender

Think his best position is probably fullback if he has to move from centre. You can get away with being a little worse playmaking by being a better ball runner

Could just be happy being a top 2 centre and consistently making the top 8 rather than being maybe 7th best fullback at a team that will probably be bottom half

    Need a mid, want Manu.

Qn:  Anyone think Manu not worth chasing?  Currently my back 5 lines up as:

    Bird, Alamoti
    Teddy, Trbo, Miller /Sloan, Warbrick

Alomoti to Manu quite the upgrade.

I too need a MID and am looking for a combination of points scorer but also money maker to a degree. ( probably like everyone else)

Everyone seems hot on CHEESE, $518k, duel cover , low BE, and seems to be on the improve, doesn't play rd 13 but would SIPLEY be better???

SIPLEY, $485k, low BE, potential gains with Jurbo @ orgin, plays round 13.

    What does everyone think.

Also I think we will have some cash cows soon with Oloapu & Metcalf to be able to obtain likes of Hynes/Grant, etc

Yeah kinda hoping Oloapu is a sneaky last game addition to the team. Can flick Warbrick if he gets named and be happy

Pretty harsh on a bloke who’s played 5 games there, did he plays in the halves coming through the grades?
Agree on Moylan, he’s been underrated his whole career

Every chance Sipley goes back to his average of 27 minutes for 25 points from last season. I am picking him to get the Host and Couch trap of the week award.

Last week there were extra minutes available with Bullemor playing EDG, this week he is back on the bench.

Bullemor has had a low of 26 minutes off the bench this season.
Keppie has played at a minimum 33 minutes each week, often 40+.
Lawton, if not getting injured can play big minutes, was really impressive as a tackle bot beast when playing Hooker earlier this year.

Paseka's role looks to be 45 minute prop.
    Aoloiai is 45 minute lock.
Jurbo has only played under 80 minutes once this season, last week was an anomoly for any season.

So we have maybe 70 minutes to share between 4 bench forwards, where the other 3 could easily cover all 70 minutes.

Looks like a $485k blunder to me.

Could get a 65+ minute Cheese for $33k more!

Coach media has assistant Fein pumping up Niko Katoa combo,  doesnt sound like things are changing this week unless he is a massive liar

This guy sure is talking up the combination.

What a dilemma.  Fox sports predicting Milf back in and Kodi to the bench but we know they are full of shit.

I need to decide tonight for my trades, this is a tough one.  Could just punt on Weeks I guess.

Sipley makes little sense to me as a trade in. If he was 250k yeah might be worth a punt. Even still a big risk. At his price, just strange.
