Elliott isnt playing 80 at lock. Mann gets some at lock and some at hooker.

They will be taking more mins than the recent locks though (Croker and Johns) which means less middle mins for the bench

Elliot back soon (AOB said likely 2 weeks), which IMO means Mann drops to bench and takes HOK mins

Can go EKatoa to anyone under 792k... position doesn't really matter.

Options are mainly between Matterson and Fifita, such a tough call.

Could get Robson but his scores this year have been a worry and I've got Cook already, other options are maybe Bateman for a left field option.

But yeah mainly need advice on choosing between Matterson and Fifita

Where do Gambles minutes come from though? He's been really good for them this year, seems odd to only give him 10 minutes. Though I guess you could say the same for Trindall.

I’d go fifita just for the ceiling

He also has huge base this year

But matto is a very good alternative

Guess matto has better bye coverage

Both are a question mark for origin with fifita more likely and matto a Smokey

I imagine gamble gets limited minutes at lock, covers injuries, don’t see him playing big minutes at hooker

Basing that on speculation, I watched the presser with AOB and he was asked specifically about gamble, said something like “he’s a footy player, we’ll get him in there somewhere”

Might be worth watching again, will do later if no one gets there before me

He was named starting lock a few weeks ago. Can see him and Mann sharing lock, with Mann getting some minutes at HOK.

Not sure but Gamble is a better footballer, not hard to see. Maybe a bit too much uncertainty for me for Crossland. Plus others to return as has been mentioned

Coming around to JDB myself, I think they'll need Bird to stay second row moving forward.

Can't see any news on Su'a, just dropped?

Bench looks good for JDB. They probably have 2 forwards play 80 which would seem to be Bird and JDB. BMM doesn’t seem to be the 80 guy

Think this week I take a punt to cut some under performers, who are either losing cash or plateaued, and pick up an couple of underpriced guys who now seem to have a decent role.

    Carrigan to JDB
    Carty to Manu
one of my sub 330k guys to Wakeham

Wakeham is definitely a punt but if he can get more kick metres with Doueihi out is definitely underpriced.

Haven't seen much discussion of Ponga back yet.

Obviously you can't buy him this week, but with a BE around 60, when does he become cheap enough to be tempting? Or is he just on the never again list at this point.

Gamble said himself the plan was always for him to play 'middle' off the bench but that changed with ponga injury.

Crossland has been surprisingly good this year. Was a liability the last couple of seasons.

He's at the top of the never again list, I got trapped by him last year and I will not allow myself to be trapped again Very Happy

Like them, I’m giving carrigan grace as I have other issues and tapine on bye

Hoping against hope that tougher games means more tackles, very disappointing so far

By the time he drops a bit and maybe shows a worthwhile score it’ll be too close to Origin and he’ll miss 13, 14, 16, 19

If he drops below 400k I would 100% consider as an 18/19 man looper for final team. If you asked would rather Warbrick (or a similar price WFB) or Ponga if they were the same price you’d obviously take Ponga

Might just go EKatoa to Manu and hold the rest

Unsure on Crossland and no faith that Dragons keep the optimum rotation, can always go Loiero to JDB in a few weeks if he’s legit?

That's more or less all I'm hoping for. If you can pick him up for 400-430k at some point as a high upside 18th man with handy dual he'd be hard to pass up.

Also devil's advocate but is he still a certain starter for origin with Walsh's current form?
