Thanks mate. I got too distracted looking at which clubs still have silhouettes to check at 3!

I watched the video this team came from last week, Freddie was also a part of it and was asked a couple related questions, I got the impression that he really values the Luai/Cleary/Yeo combination and Hynes will be 14 at best, also mentions that where there are spots to be won he prefers players from teams that are winning, so that might leave players like Matterson on the outer at the moment.

Late to the party re: all the conversations in the last day or so.

@Moanaman Little Thai Kitchen is awesome! When I lived in Upper Riccarton I loved that place, thanks for the reminder it exists I'll be devouring there this weekend 😂

When I moved to Chch I was actually surprised how big league was. I expected noone would even watch it. Still small fry compared to union obviously, but several of my coworkers etc had played league at school over union. Also I'm pretty sure it's relatively popular on the West Coast? Fandom doesn't mean player numbers though I guess. Probably nowhere near enough to support a second team.

As for league/rugby players headhunted to the other code. I went to school with the Lauaki brothers, and they were both headhunted by Kelston Boys to play union (by Graham Henry I do believe), but Hame ended up in the league system. They had a sports academy which we couldn't compete with, and offered tutors to players who maybe weren't as academically inclined so they could stay in the system. Also RIP Sione.

I played league in New Zealand when I was a kid.  We played a team called something like Tikapunga Buffalos and East End Sharks and I'm pretty sure there was a pirate team but a different name to the one you said. In one of the teams we played they had a girl playing. She made the front page of the paper tackling my mate. Haha. After a match with another team all of the Kiwi boys were break dancing in the dressing rooms. It was very cool.\

    Maybe, Cleveland Pirates??

You could change the North Island team to the Whangerai Whakapapas

I almost got caught up in the picture affair again too. Everyone at Manly except Sipley has the poorly lit photos now. Outrageous imo.

You’re more efficient at team updates than me anyway, but I’m off camping from tomorrow so I expect I won’t be much use

Can we look forward to a Rhyse Martin style banner if no one comes forward to replace Liverpool Bulldog Wink

Two scores over 30 and will be priced a touch over 20. Plays the first bye.

I think the planned subs were altered a little by Bromwich getting 10 in the bin. He won't rise by much if you do decide to wait
