I don't blame the man on the ground, I blame the system for not letting the bunker overrule forward passes that clearly aren't forward or vice versa. If they aren't sure then stick with ref's call.

They often mistakenly call forward pass when the player receiving has to reach out so far to catch it, gives the illusion that the pass must have been forward.

Yeah don't get me wrong I'm not one for ref bashing, I referee a fair bit in a different sport, it's tough and mistakes will be made, but forward passes have been a major weak spot of the officiating in the NRL for some time.
