Yeah I'm not too fussed about my captaincy pick this week, I've learned from last year that playing a straight bat with captaincy picks (especially early in the year) is generally the best way to go.

Yeah, I think most players who didn't Captain Hopgood would still have been expecting to see around a 60 mark (hoping a little less, but probably expecting a little more).

I captained Hopgood because of Snatch not Matt. Although I suppose in the end mostly I captained him because of me.

If it's acceptable any day, I'd say St Patrick's Day is it.
Fwiw, it's 29 and 70% humidity here and I've just mowed the lawn. By the time I get the edges done it will definitely be Guinness o'clock

I wouldn't be surprised if Hopgood was battling an illness the way the trainer kept checking on him and the extended stint on the bench that was only broken by Doorey's injury. I'm just grateful he came back and scored another 22 points. Feel like freebies tbh.
Manly attacking Parra's right edge through Schuster, Trbo and Garrick had a lot of success. Less action from DCE and Haumole than I expected, with the latter's two tries coming off a kick and intercept, so no LBs or TBs.

Hope this is a new precedent for the media and all issues with footy players stemming from personal issues are treated this carefully and sensitively, even those where it comes to light in the public domain. Nagging feeling they won't be for reasons.
