Is anyone actually going to get rid of Smith.

Has a lot of potential but does not appear like he is gonna live up to that big minute HOK role. Players like the Shaq could match his output for the same price?

The NRL will be trying to balance player welfare and the 'good of the game'. Teams need their players on the field and 11 days would theoretically mean only missing 1 game.

Yeah I get that, definitely. But repeated concussions, or regular like Ponga or anyone that gets one and goes unnoticed means damage in later life potentially. So not playing for a week or two is gud, but its still there.

Makes you wonder how any contact sports are still in place really. It's a tangent I know, and we aren't going to solve it here are we.

I know the patient game is an approach, and trades aren't unlimited, but I'm personally surprised anyone would have kept him, atleast this past week being last chance anyway.
We all see it differently, but the injury scare and performance meant jump for me.

Connelly Lemuelu aka null null failed HIA after 20 mins. I thought he just didn't get back on originally. Could still be a decent cheap CTR option soon.

yeah technically it's the Sutherland Shire.... but it has a nice ring to it, and might as well be used for any NRL related rumours.

I'm keeping him but he's in a loop and he would have been gone if I had more than 17 green dots to start the week. Trading green dots is a bit of a luxury for me this week.

NRL.com has an article about the new concussion protocols. Saw this line..

"In exceptional circumstances, Clubs will have the ability to apply for exemption to the 11-day stand-down period..."

Which will probably come into play around origin/finals as Filth mentioned.

They have lost 1 big minute player in NAS and gained 2 in Tui and Sims, also had to adjust for NAS injury the last 20 minutes last week. Hard to see King getting more than he did last week, which was 63 minutes for 49 points.

Tui and Sims are both coming back from calf injuries, havent played a game in a while. I still expect King to get good minutes 60 + but yeah not playing 80 probably isnt great for him.. all though he was a fresh face last year so perhaps improving. Risk is low given his BE is 23 atm.. worst case is he averages 43 and goes up 40 -60 k the next 3 weeks

I think the biggest problem is people trying to solve it.
Might sound like a bit of a rant but can’t get over how people are trying to change contact sports in this manner.
There’s so many forms of sports and if contact, blood, guts, concussions, cuts, vomiting isn’t what entertains you, there is still a number of sports you can choose from.
I feel like throat punching people who say they love rugby league but don’t like the concussions, what sort of stupid shit is that? Rugby league is a concussion sport, that’s it.
As long as rugby league exists there will be concussions and the moment the concussions stop it will no longer be rugby league.
Get everyone to go through an education video before they start, get them to sign a waiver to say “they know what they’re getting themselves into” and move the fuck on.
The most annoying thing is it’s all about money, the people suing because they didn’t know that getting hit in the head was bad for you, and the nrl, putting in a bullshit policy so they can be seen to be doing something so they don’t get sued. It’s still a farce and always will be, you can now get knocked clean the fuck out and if the draw is friendly, miss a game…. Yep that’ll work.
For those that want to posture say they care more about the players health, go watch fucking badminton, they’re all healthy.

    Bit of a Rant over
