One of the few who hasn't left my team. Looks like he's goal kicking, should do most of the general play kicking next to Foran and the dual is incredibly handy. Priced at 33 he averaged 48 at halfback last year. You're doing exceptionally well if you can find 21 other guys with better value than that. Not sure what's not to like.

Who are we really hot on that has low ownership, and who is in lots of teams that we are cold on?

AKP 32% pretty sure we are much lower ownership here
    HTF 29% much lower here
Teddy 26% expect we are lower ownership here - Dolphins and Warriors first up, could come back to bite us.
Stone 26% - surprised so high still
Boyd at 21% is probably the first that we would have much higher ownership of here, other than Hopgood and Smith who everyone has.

E Butcher 4% - Are we wrong on him as higher owned here
Trindall 3% - We would be higher here
Douehi 7% - In many more teams here
    HSS 6%
    Carty 9%

If we (nrlff) had a podcast, we would be promoting EButcher, Doueihi & HSS... the Carty Party is for shits and giggles... picking Trindall is just madness (or genius?)

Certainly creates some interest in punting on Trindall and shifting to a Sea Eagle or Panfer after their byes if it goes to shit.

If I'm punting on Carty I could easily punt on Trindall as well. Majority of cheapies this season are pretty uninspiring

Big names like Teddy will be higher ownership amongst casuals (but also somewhat popular with diehards)

I'm struggling to find a gun back other than Teddy that has bonus of Dolphins and Warriors up first

I think picking on fixtures can easily back fire, especially when we are talking about only a 2 week period.

Latrell is the same price as Teddy, can average around the same, and you don't need to trade until origin.

One theory I am toying with is starting teddy, and thinking of the option of trading him to Trbo/Walsh/whoever looks good just before his bye.
Don't really want to have too many pre-planned trades going into the season. But if it turns out Teddy is going too well and I don't want to trade him, that's hardly a bad result.

Read whatever you want into the coach's comments about the four backrowers named in the 17.

He also expects Doorey to become an 80 minute player for them, but not necessarily in round one.

Carty has barely trained and will start, Jirah will come on and play some back row. Murchie also there who might probably play some middle and some backrow, see how it goes.

See above for specific re Doorey

This doesn't just go for Boyd, but for any player where you find yourself asking  "why do people like him"

    Go to www.footystatistics.com
Select the player you are interested in
Filter by the position they are playing this year (restrict to 2022 only if there's enough data)

Look at the average and compare it to the 1st round BE

In this case you see Boyd has a 47 average at halfback, and is priced at 33.

To be a fantasy supremo you don't have to be that good at football if you can kick, tackle and goalkick enough

Boyd can theoretically hit his BE just on tackles (minus missed tackles), kick metres and conversions. Any attacking output is a bonus

I love this kinda straight talk!

Picking of fixtures can certainly back fire, but it's Teddy we are talking about here, never a bad time to own him. But pretty scary not owning him those first two rounds. I'm not suggesting you captain him, I've learnt my lesson there Embarassed

Walsh interests me so may as well use Teddy as place holder and hope he goes big.

Sounds better for Doorey. Sounds like Carty/Jirah will split edge and Murchie is that edge/mid hybrid type

That's what I thunk on Doorey....not as exciting but he's there and he's going to get picked next week.

Now back to Garner vs Butcher......

I'm also busting to swap Uto out for Keppie

I have a feeling Pele will become that kind of bench forward that sneaks by all year pumping out 30's, but everyone has too many fires to put out to chuck him in your side, until he is 450K and too late to grab him.
