Just picking out numbers, like the old minute scenario. I've got them playing 48-51 minutes. .

Welcome back everyone. Looking forward to a good fantasy season!

I'm more happy with Cotter 98.2-98.8 average because it matches my Fahrenheit body temperature, and makes him a reasonably reliable captain

    No interest in Finucane?
Priced at 37 due to some injury effected games/scores.
Averaged 43 at starting lock playing 40+ minutes.
Averaged 48 in his first five games last season.

Seems low risk of regressing or losing money but maybe 5-6 points above price not enough reward for most?

I hear you brother. It's PPM that counts, not how long you're out there chasing a bit of cow hide around.

What are everyone's plans for a tricky bye in week 3 and 4. Penrith (Cleary, Garner, Kenny) Roosters (Teddy,Butchers', Cheese). It's going to look pretty thin those two weeks.

I think additonal trading will be actually quite valuable, as some will take the risks of trading their way through a 3 or 4 player bye week or backing the likes of Harvey Smith Shields and T. Sloan!!

There is a belief that Matterson returns to his bench role that worked so well last year so whoever gets edge will potentially remain there pending they dont suck

Matterson mostly played as a middle last year.

Its possible they move him back to edge to allow Hopgood to stay at lock. Either way there's a good chance one of Doorey/Hopgood loses a bit of value when Matterson comes back. So just pick'em both and hope for the best

Simplest way is not to have 3 players from the same team with an early bye

Trading players in and out again for a week is fraught with danger. If they are a cash cow still making money, you basically have to trade them back in the next week to get their cash.
In some instances someone will be peaked (or near enough) when their bye comes around so you can just trade them out and move on, but I wouldn't like to base my season around this happening.

Or just stack your team and hope your 18-21 are good enough

Yeah having 3 players from the same team with an early bye is not fun, I currently have that for Penrith (Cleary, Garner, Luke) but not for any other team, also doesn't help that round 3 the Titans play the Storm so Boyd and AKP might not do so great then either.

Yeah I see what could happen here.

If Carty is named there in round 1, he is a must have.

Doorey, even if he holds the spot when Carty is available, may not be worth getting. Better off going up to a Loiero, Eisenhuth or Seyfarth for some decent scoring.

Cotter's first 10 games last year (prior to Origin/injury) produced a 55.7 average - I'm guessing it's based mostly around that?

He started the season slow, coming back from an injury. Rounds 8 to 12 are the best indication of the kind of big minute prop role that they are looking for from him when fully fit (58-80 minutes with scoring in the 50-71 range in that period).

Carty EDG > 50 minutes average of 47

    Let's break that down;
    2022 EDG games (eels) = 0
2021 EDG games (eels) = 1 for 50 points cheer
    2020 EDG games (titans) = 5 for 36.6 average
2019 EDG games (titans) = 12 for 42.3 average - yay we're finally starting to get some meaningful data, but still well short of that 47 average
    2018 EDG games = 0
    2017 EDG games = 1 (6 points in 14 minutes)
2016 EDG games = 10 for a 50.9 average - finally something close to that projection. Sure it's only 7 seasons ago, but hey....

Moral of the story... do we really need to oversell shit?
