Yeah just what I was trying to say preseason, it's so lame and unengaging. But here I am...

Stuff like Salah shows how it’s just a dumb game and even if you’re invested you shouldn’t get too invested.

Way more susceptible to variance that NRLFF or most other fantasy games due to the really simple scoring system.

The odds of Salah blanking in a 9-0 must be so small.

yeah I'm not a big fan of the FPL scoring system, someone can have a solid game but still get a blank, at least in NRL Fantasy the majority players would get a return from a solid game. It probably is too much effort to accurately measure succesful passes, interceptions, errors, run meters, dribble meters, tackles, tackle breaks (getting past opposition players with the ball), etc.

Maybe a decade ago I played one which tried to align more with actual contribution to the game - I think it was on The Guardian - CDMs were huge, I think Gareth Barry (Man City) was the best player in the game.

I guess part of the appeal of FPL is it's simplicity though. Nearly 10m players. 3-4 million of them might even be legitimate teams.

I think I prefer this to NRL Fantasy. Reduced chance of severe injuries and HIAs ruining game weeks is quite nice.

I enjoy the simplicity. Maybe a light tweak to scoring so that defensive minded midfielders would be on a more equal footing with the attacking ones. But one good thing about the scoring system is that its very easy to know how your player is going just by watching the game, you don't need to check stats to see how you've gone.

You could easily make a supercoach style scoring EPL game. Just score 1 point per completed pass and base other stats from there. "Good" players could rack up 100+ points a game and everyone can be happy. Doubt that would be as popular as the current system is though.

The sportsdeck version includes a bunch of stats, tackles intercepts, blocked shot etc. I don't really like the sportsdeck price changes though with EPL scoring as the variance is so high that prices fluctuate wildly.
Maybe I'm just whinging - I wanted to make cash grab on Rodrigo, but had to ditch Salah or Haaland to do so, and ditched Haaland. Made a $600k profit on the trade, but I think overall it was a bit of a mistake

Your starting team looks good, the only concerns are Mendy & James, but Chelsea should get some clean sheets the next 3 GWs, and with Fofana joining, James shifting to wingback will only improve his chances to get a good haul going forward.
Your bench probably needs a bit of love especially if any of your starting players are getting rested for midweek games, you don't have any cash for upgrades, so I guess the best option is to check the late mail.

Thanks mate, yeah I’ll think I’ll just hold trades this week and see if I can use 2 next week for anything. Mendy could become Sanchez but that just feels forced and no one else is asking to be traded.

Great start to GW5, 2 points out of 4 players.
I picked up Dunk as a cheapie defender thinking he would probably bag a goal soon... and that he did Bang

If my bench has Walker as first sub does he come straight in for James this week?

    Yeah

1st sub comes in unless it gives you an illegal formation (like 2-5-3)

Finally got captaincy right this week

On for an 83 once bench and bonus get added which puts me just outside top 100k

Fixture swing coming that I would like to target but most of my team is performing very well so hard to pull the trigger

I’m struggling to come up with a transfer(or 2) I want to make, but don’t want to lose one.

Walker to Fofana maybe and bank half a mil? Punt Cancelo despite the big haul last start?

Going to a wedding in a couple of hours so either going to make a drunk decision or forget and burn the trade

My team is above, should I keep it the same for the 3rd week running? No obvious trade outs even though I have 2 FTs
