Finished on 813 moving to 9.3k rank...I was anticipating a score around 900 but then TPJ & Taumalolo decided to phuck me up the ass.

Could be an interesting Randall pivot

May have gone off a little early in my doom and gloom before the last game, was pretty shocking to see my lowest rank this season with only one game to pull it back. I need to start ignoring liverank completely. Did not expect Cotter and Robson to be as PODy as they were, usually its a hard slog to make up ground but instead I flew up to rank 51 with an 885.

Talakai my only real villain, a worse tradein than Sexton for me at this point. Some mixed feelings about my trades this week- happy with the ins of Burton and Robson, though I regret moving on Gilbert so close to the bye. Tuilagi’s 49 smarts more though (always scores terribly when in my 17 and wonderfully outside it). Thinking I probably should have found another avenue to my tradeins this week.

Held Paps so I will probably do Talakai + Paps > iPap + Elliott/Woolford
Really need to stop trading after this, getting to the point that a couple of injuries could see me fielding well unders in R17.

You reckon this place has the pokie effect with trades??

You know you shouldn’t trade, but because all you see is ‘everyone’ else making trades you just think, yeah why not one more.

Is Woolford actually in Canberra's top 30? Thought he got an exemption to play at the weekend?

    2021
For many, it was a year of mistakes and missed opportunities, but for one player, it was a year where he took his game to new heights, producing one of the most outstanding individual seasons on record.

It is often described as a truly stellar season. Words like astounding, unprecedented, incredible and simply unbelievable seemed to follow his every move.

One thing is certain; 2021 delivered us a new champion, a new hero, and now he's back and ready to dominate any who would stand in his way.

    Forget the pretenders.
Only one true Champion can tell you who to trade and what strategy will take you to ultimate glory.
    That man is @pain

Last year 43 players put their reputations on the line, 42 fell, and One prevailed. Only one would become the inaugural Lord of the Byes. But now the title becomes available once more - do you think you've got what it takes?

While his reign as Champion has ended, this season @pain returns, some say stronger and better than ever. Some say he's left no house standing as he readies himself to defend his title.
"Honestly, everyone who knows me knows that I am a Weapon when it comes to Fantasy, but nothing in my armoury could stop Pain," runner-up and Bye-rounds master @theWeapon joked at the championship season launch.

"Look, if I'm honest, I invented this game because I wanted to be Champion, but Pain was relentless. It was like watching a Tsunami of fantasy points, there was no stopping him. I still have nightmares." said also-ran @EasyTiger.

And it seems they are right to be concerned, with the clear favourite saving trades in the early rounds.
"I did it last year. I didn't know what the outcome would be, but I guess the way I got through the year and played good fantasy, you know, giving up drink-trading helped strategically and also mentally."
"You feel a lot better within yourself. Your team feels better, you recover quicker, all that type of stuff. It definitely helps, and I'll be locking it in again."

They say adversity brings out the best, and with the bye rounds just around the corner, this could be the most exhilarating, controversial and, in the end, glorious Bye Championships ever seen.

    The only question is;
Will YOU be the Lord of the Byes?

In my case my season is gone so just max trading for fun until all my trades are gone. With 4 trades per round available from round 13 my trades should be gone pretty quickly.

Thought it might be entertaining to retrospectively assess last weeks wacky Lone Scout advice

Buy Burbo - Circumstance played a part here but, no

    Sell Papy - Sage advice

    Best Cheapie -
Christian Tuipulotu (pass mark, probs a decent buy a couple of weeks ago)
    Burbo (see above)
Oliver Gildart (dropped for being shit...just like this advice)
Big Herman (14 mins for 12 points...as the advice says, great ppm)

Should I sell Tuilagi - Definitely (not this week I'm afraid)

Adam Elliott - Let it go (wish I'd listened here or at least read the Canberra Times regularly)

Captain Hynes? - Slap the armband on him, matchups are King

    Buy Cleary - Yes

Sell Tago - Definitely, what with the matchups and everything

A lot of these calls are bad in retrospect and circumstances played their part but I think the Lone Scout needs to start combing in a severe side part and putting his tie back on

as of this weekend clubs can pick players outside of their top 30 without having to get exemptions. eg development list plaeyrs, or guys on 'train n trial' contracts. dev list is usually juniors on i think around 60k per year. afaik train n trial they are just on weekly payments (to train full time with the team) but no set length
