If Rushton got 30 of that at a PPM of 1 initially, and 45 minutes at Origin, I would be happy for $220k.

Upside potential would be Ming 2.0

They have one forward playing Origin? It's not like their pack is decimated. Spencer Leniu was supposed to be an amazing bye round option last year, and that was with three forwards playing rep.

Young is an EDG, which Elliott covers from the bench. Rushton is a big minute lock (can also cover EDG if needed).

Not like he is an edge and nothing else. Has played about half of his NRL career as a middle forward

Dunno if mentioned but TMM in system as HLF/WFB at 300k, so BE low 20s for anyone who wants a look.

Leniu is a max 35 minute forward on his best day (just looked it up and he has 1 game over 33 minutes, at 38 minutes, including games that he has started).
Rushton is a huge minute lock, playing 70-80 minutes each week.
Which player gets the opportunity when spare minutes are available?

Is that 2021's music I hear?! Fifita scoring tries again, Cleary scoring points on points again, and most importantly, an avalanche of 69 scores again!

A slow start to the season however a record three 69s in one game this round has rocketed up the tally for the season. Other highlights include Sorensen doing it in just 36 minutes beating last year's record by 9 minutes. Well done Sorensen!
Three players nearly achieved immortal status (currently only held by The Cheese) by being one minute off the coveted 69 in 69 minutes. Better luck next time lads.

    Rd 1:
    - nil

    Rd 2:
    - G Marzhew (Titans) 80min

    Rd 3:
    - P Carrigan (Broncos) 68

    Rd 4:
    - nil

    Rd 5:
    - D Cherry-Evans (Sea Eagles) 80

    Rd 6:
    - L Thompson (Bulldogs) 68
    - A Koroisau (Panthers) 68
    - K Staggs (Broncos) 80
    - S Sorensen (Panthers) 36
    - R Mulitalo (Sharks) 80

    Total: 8

Next update will be after round 9.

Seems like if you want to score 69 then you should play 68 minutes

Leniu also played big minutes in reserve grade. There's no evidence that Rushton is a "huge minute" NRL player. He might be, but it does sound a lot like you're creating a narrative for a player you need to jigsaw into your team because he's the only option to fund another move. This is not unknown.

The only guy the Raiders have out over Origin is Papalii. I'd speculate that Tapine and Sutton would start the one game he's out, with Whitehead or Young at lock (and the other in 2rf). Horsburgh and Elliott on the bench along with Rushton if he's shown he's cut it at first grade. They also have Mooney and Hola who are rated and could come onto the bench.

Could be a good cash-out before byes if he does actually look the goods. I'm guessing that you've never actually seen him play, I know I haven't. Let's face it, the reason to get him at the moment is because he's a live 220k player and anything else is speculation.

    On the Ponga love.

His average scoring on current scoring basis has been between 39 and 47 over the last 5 years , and 47 for the last 2 years.   (I ignored escape from goal and assumed all offloads were to hand).

    Ponga:

He is now priced at around 40-41.  So perhaps 5-6 points underpriced IF he hits his 2020/2021 averages?

BUT really hard to tell what a keeper at fullback is this year as they are all way down.   So is it realistic that he can hit last years averages of 47 unless he becomes, relatively, better?

[Side note.  He has only lost $33k this year.   At the start of the year he was priced around 47 on the expected magic number.  But then the scoring has been so much lower this year, the magic number has grown.  Really his starting price was around a 43 average.]

    I still might get him.

At the moment there is too many trade outs and not enough trade ins. I’ve learnt that forcing a trade in rarely works. If in doubt hold a player because chances are either a better option will pop up or the player you held will start showing you what you got him for in the first place.

I think that’s why heaps of people ended up with players like Koula and Leo Thompson that didn’t actually look like that good of prospects but we’re cheap so we were optimistic about them as we wanted them to be good options rather than them actually being good options

Hmmm. Had locked in SCritta to Ponga, but could get Teddy instead. Better team, better draw, but Roosters still look pretty clunky and so does Ted, while Ponga looked *on* last week from the whistle.

I suppose the other consideration is Teddy will be a headache backing up over Origin while Ponga will probably have to play all the games he's available for. Plus the 50k difference could be useful later.

    Anyway, TU Ponga, TD Teddy.

Not many 21 year old 70-80 minute locks averaging 60 fantasy points in reserve grade. That is the real attraction, especially when Ricky was openly disappointed with the guy he replaced (without naming names).

Can only get Cleary by selling Jing and one of starling, Fifita, dce, Ipap, Haas.

Don’t really want to do that just yet. Will build a bank by going Jing to rushton or someone cheap.

Trades at the moment are looking like Sexton/Clark out for Lolo/Jones.

Just not sure Jones is a buy as a cash cow at the moment. Seems to have maybe 100k left in him.

I don't understand how you're getting Tapine, Rushton, Cleary and Mulitalo this week. Is it four trade week already?

I've had Jones since his first week and I'm very unenthused. Plodder. Has however long it takes for Fitzgibbon to come back to make slow cash. I sold Tuilagi early (to jump on Starling) but if you don't have him would definitely pick him up in preference to Jones.
