But there is also a bit of a precedent for gun halves that don't kick on - the players that have the high footy IQ early but then can't step up when the players are bigger and faster in the higher grade. Then their contemporaries catch up on the footy side.

Beau Henry was U20s player of the year for the Dragons. He's been playing the third tier of footy in NSW since his mid-20s. A lot of other gun halves at age group have struggled to kick on too. Elgey and Ash Taylor were player of the year as well.

Anyway didn't mean to get into an opinion battle over Jake Clifford. For me and the hype he received before playing he has been shite - below mediocre for current nrl career to date.

No reason he can't improve or turn it around in a new enviroment though. and as always will put my hand up and say, Welshy was wrong he's actually just decent

I'm done with the Clifford bashing, in ideal world he guns it for you in fantasy but I get proven he's shit in RL. Win/Win

Not sure why Clifford is in the conversation for Fantasy really.

Clifford has played about 60 Nrl games in the halves averaging his price of 42pts
Fairly consistent 60 rm and 270km for these points with the odd attacking stat but nothing to write home about.

Since joining half a year ago with the Knights he averaged 66 rm and 290km or about 48pts
with what looks to the difference being a few more tackles, some goal kicking and a few force turnovers.

Whats happening in 2022?

People hoping he can make 100k and become say a 50+ half?
Ie Moses,CWalker,Reynolds

Or if hoping he maintains his Knights scoring and goes high 40s, makes about 50k?
Ie Wighton,Johnson,Townsend

Whats the chances one of the above lift more than him? That would make them keepers too

He would need to have a Turbo-like season. Already priced at 1.2 tries and 0.4 assists per game.

Clune didn't kick at all in the trial, it was all Clifford. That's just one trial and they may have been testing something out or Clune might have had a niggle, but it would have positive fantasy implications. Add the certainty of goalkicking and the abstract of player development and there *could* be 10+ points of value there.

Problem for me is unbalancing a squad that already has Cleary, Schneider, Amone, Ilias, Hynes and could do with better non-HLFs.

@Boozecluez Oh sorry mate, wasn't meaning you mentioning him, he had been in the convo earlier.

I'd much rather aim up to Sexton/Burton or down to Mann or if peeps are really scratching around run Amone/Ilias in their half, but Clifford is a no go zone for mine.
