A million miles from post-TLT sensibleness where we'll end, but good enough for a bludgey Friday.

What’s the interest in Tupouniua? Nothing much changed with his scoring last year, still had a bunch of scores 30s & below in full games without tries

Trying to hold off on creating a squad as long as I can this year. Felt like I just ended up overthinking it and confusing myself last season.

It's bloody tempting though. Just caught up on the rule changes/off season news and scrolled a bit through what I'd missed on here yesterday. And it's a slow Friday at work...

Hasn't decided which position Cobbo will get yet, could be fullback, center or wing.

Will be Gamble or Kelly in round 1.

I have heard that the word out of the broncos camp is that Mam has impressed everyone and the coaches all reckon that he could easily start round 1

Yeah its possible . Still a while to go I guess. It may be a reactive move from what happened with Walsh. I'd love to see Mam. Having a solid 7 makes a big difference as well as Mam wouldn't need to do too much.

From what I've seen/heard of training it is mainly Gamble in the "A" team

Pretty much all the photos of training over the last few weeks have Mam in the ressies jersey.

Mostly eye test, Keary and the Rooster's early run.

Sitial looks like a very good footballer. Good condition, good hands, good temperament, great ball runner.

Keary put Sitili through holes at whim in the first few games last year, and with Teddy sniffing around it could be a fairly standard and fairly productive attacking lineup.

And Roosters play Knights, Manly, Rabbits, Cowboys, Broncos, Warriors, Dragons, Bulldogs, Titans in the first 9 rounds, and could put up a cricket score against any of them.

I am tossing up the Teddy/STupou pairing. Could easily go CNK/TPJ and still be making a good call.

Will watch the trials, and if the Roosters look as scary good on the paddock as they do on paper I'll buy in.

I feel Hastings and Ilais are likely to be this years Lam & Chad...

One ways good, one was nothing short of disappointment.

Priced at 51 with an average of 57.6 and that is with 4.6 TBs/game which brings would bring his average down to only 1 point above his price and not enough cheapies to bring him in at the moment.

Games at fullback, where he wasn't injured, he averaged over 70 last season.

Hypothetically, if this were a guaranteed outcome, do you:

    a) get both
    b) gamble on the right one
    c) get neither

Remove the game where he got concussed after 13 minutes, and the few games where he was eased back via the interchange and you get an average at Fullback of 70.8.

I'm not saying he will average 70 this year, but he's one of the few players priced over 50 that have genuine upside.
Plus he'll be wildly popular, so in combination, that's not really worth the risk of not having him.

Monty hall says choose 1, don't get a goat, change your mind, then win a car.

    Hope that helped.

Curse of small samples strikes again. In the 5 games last year in which he played over 70 mins and didn't score a try, Capers averaged 34.

Include tries (fewer on offer at teh doncs) and its 45.5 (for small sample 8 games).

Extend through all 2RF games since 2020, adjust via ppm for 50min+ games (shudder at bad stats) then you get an average of 52.6 (48 without tries)

Priced around 40, in signing the great Kaper Caper you're essentially hoping for somewhere between those last two.

But he's in a worse team. And will play Origin.

Personally I'm not tempted, but understand the theoretical interest.
