There's a lot of time for rookies to emerge between now and TLT.

Finding 4 220s from the ~28 listed who'll start even off the bench will be tricky. Finding 4 that you want in your side harder still.

I mean, if that all comes through then bonza team! I don't share your faith in Capewell turning top-tier, Grant being worth it first up, Cotric scoring well, or Radley being anything but a bloody liability. But still, good team.

Also; Coates is more elegant to watch play than he is relevant for Fantasy scoring; Raymond Faitailer Mariner will be hard up starting in Round 1; cannot understand why you would not go for a proven scorer like Schrichton over unproven like Suallu; Curran's price is inflated by two big minute games last year... with him, you are likely to also be riding out quite a number of unremarkable scores - but as L-Jimy said "bonza team"

Only 68% of the top 100 players had him last year it seems. Unless I am interpreting the footystatistics site wrong

    https://www.footystatistics.com/index.php?p=504120

Was he as must-have as suggested?

He was out from round 16 to 21, most teams traded him and were not able to get him back. I am sure those that had him for the final 4 games would of enjoyed his 80 point average.

You know what... you may have to ask Rabbits 21. I never did see him and the bile merchant on the same forum at the same time. Have you ever wondered about how old Wayne Bennet actually is? The truth is out there.

Is there any way of seeing how the ownership fluctuated over time?

The 'gun' term for centers I think may be a bit misleading this year - particularly as it comes to allocating cash.

Take Aitken and Bird. They are likely to score like 2RFs in the CTR position. This raises them well above Cotric/Crichton/Sualli, who are likely to score like WFB/CTRs. So on this basis they are 'gun' centers.

But neither Aitken nor Bird is likely to be a 'gun' 2RF - that's more your Arrow/Murray/Fifita/Leilua sort of mob.

    But we can't select Aitken/Bird in 2RF.

Well, actually we kind of can. Because we pay for them in moneys, and can do foregone value estimates.

No question you want them in your finishing 17.

But there are other important questions! (i've picked R17 out of the air because 16 is convenient. ymmv)

    1. can you buy them for 630 in R17 instead of 540 in R1?
1a. A dollar is worth less in R17, so that's cheaper real cost
1b. It also means you can use the CTR position for cows, earning cash and decreasing real cost again.

    2. what are the scoring differentials from A/Bird to Cotric/Crichton? Are they sufficient to get you left behind?
2a. Maybe! Probably should model this. But at say a 45 average over a 25 average (each), over 16 rounds, that's 800 points. Which is many.

    3. To help us figure out from 2, what would you alternative use of ~600k earn you from R1 to R16?
3a. In my draft team, that would turn KHetherington->STupou, Leniu->Haas. Which earns, fuck, like a billion points.

On this basis I'm leaning towards flicking can't-pass-Aitken for a cheapie.

Thought you were a fan of the small sample sizes of Bird and Aitken Razz

I’m honestly just sick of spending trades on the useless cunt of a position that is CTR so stacking it is the way to go for me

I don’t mind it. He’s just that little bit above Critta, if I can find the extra I might bump him up to Best. Main concern is how the knights play this year. Team does not look great on paper

I'll get something. Just need to find the time to try and put something together. Might be a week or so

First just have to work with last years stats to get them closer to the new scoring system

True mate they might just try shovelling it to Best and Ponga.

He's a punt but shown he can go much higher than priced average

    Thoughts on Nofoaluma?

    2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 averaged 45, 46, 37, 49, 50.

2021 had a down year with 37 average. Could be 10+ points underpriced?

Was 2021 low scores a direct correlation to Douehi playing 5/8 and centre?

If Newcastle struggle then Best may not get many attacking stats. Newcastle will have Randle at Hooker with Clune and Clifford in the halves. Personally I think those cheaper ctrs who play for better teams will score better

True, hes definitely got the ability to rack up fantasy scores. Current team situation not the best as stated. Probably a bit too pricey for early punt especially alongside an Aitken/Burton

he's a TB machine on his day right? Had a very brief look at stats and he averaged 7/game in 2019 and 6/game in 2020. Dropped to 3.7 last year, so even if you think he'll get those back up they're only worth 2 pts each now so he has that to contend with also

Anyone game enough to take an early punt on Latrell when he comes back? Could actually be a sweet POD for anyone who grabs him early. He'll pick up GK points which should negate less TBs, plus he averaged 55 last year so could very easily elevate to keeper status with those extra points
