A lot of people assuming the raiders will be swapping fog for hodgo. Hard to really tell if that’s a fair trade. Hodgo is a better player, but getting older and not getting the minutes or role in Canberra. Both clubs have a big hole that these players will fill.

Fog a leader but hard to see him as influential as hodgo.

Not to displeased as a raiders fan, thiugh don’t like the idea of watching hodgo play against us

Seems a bit silly as I am not sure it makes any meaningful difference to potential spread of COVID either.

If its a problem, either drop capacity to something like 25% or move it to Townsville. If its not a problem leave it at 100%.

Yeah that's what i'm saying really. 37.5k is still a rather full stadium, with crowded queues at bars, urinals, busses, etc.

Kind of makes the whole thing hard to take seriously, especially for people who are not NRL fans.

This is the problem with restrictions. Some are necessary, and some are just arbitrary signalling. And nobody is sure what is what.

But intuitively I don't think 75% at an outdoor venue would make much difference compared to 100%

NRL will adopt a “last in first out” policy regarding fans and members due to restrictions at the NRL GF. Now at 75 percent capacity. Those fans impacted will be looked after by the NRL at future events.

That is definitely a better way to do it. Don't know how that helps 'socially distance' the seating though, unless they re-arrange peoples tickets somehow.

Pretty sure it just allows them to comply with some sort of theoretical 'people/sqm' formula for outside venues.....the reality is that seat allocation will still be concentrated as it doesn't sound like they are reissuing tix (believe it or not I could be wrong )

It's window dressing and it also serves to infuriate music venues, theatres etc.

Its not really the NRLs fault though is it? My understanding is the 70% thing was a govt mandate.

At least you guys up in Brisbane have a music scene. We tried to have live music here last year, but people licked the dancefloor and we went back into lockdown for Christmas

Its not really the NRL's fault that a small handful of players continue to bring down the code's reputation, but that's how people's views of things generally tend to work.

When the code is perceived to get special treatment it is going to annoy people

Yes, my friends in the music industry really hate it when people get on the bags

But seriously, people in the arts/music see it as a bit of a double standard that compliance on music venues is strictly enforced and arbitrary while there seems to be a lot more flexibility when it come to pro sport (they shut community sport down pretty quick). They mostly blame the government but the codes cop a bit of scattergun flack too......I like both but can see how an industry that has had the arse torn out of it by technology in the last 20 years might be upset about losing the last reliable income source to fund their financially tenuous existence
