    Oh man, we used to have a blood bank in the same building as my work and the amount of times I'd forget about giving blood in the morning and do something dumb later that day - touch footy lunch comp, get on the beers at lunch/arvo, etc. - was over 50%.

    We might be moving place soon have put in an offer to try get a duplex lovely place. Very nervous now whether we will get it or not.

    My biggest nerves though are re tomorrow night I’m so fidgety I can’t lie or sit still and my foot has been cramping!

    Has this been discussed?

    Interesting for the game at large if true, although sounds bloody difficult for fantasy with (presumably, given an odd number of teams) a different team having a bye each round.

    Haven't been around long enough to know how people used to cope with several bye rounds throughout the year, would certainly make things interesting!

    Doesn't seem like there's enough talent for 16 teams when every year there's only 5 or 6 that have a legitimate shot at winning, and the bottom 6 or so look like reserve grade teams.

    NRL just chasing the short-term cash grab.

    I'm guessing something like BBL. I found that a nightmare where you would have some teams playing twice in 1 week and a bye the next. I don't play EPL but I guess that would be similar

    Anyone that played Milchy's 2006 fantasy comp got a preview of how 1 bye every week works. I personally copped a couple of zeroes due to it

    Will be interesting to approach from a fantasy perspective. Plenty of cash cows available with 17 extra players available.

    If it's approached how AFL did expansion with an odd number they gave the expansion team a bye week 1 which made it difficult to guess who would be starting for them since you have to make choices before initial team lists

    Its more the distribution of talent and mismanagement by clubs that is the issue.

    Every sport has a few teams in contention for the title each year and lots of bad teams.

    This is very true, however it's also how big is the divide between your best and worst. This has been the worst year of league I've ever seen in terms of the clear top and the clear bottom. I can only see that gulf growing.

    AFL is awful for it, the bottom teams never challenge the top teams. But they all seem to have little premiership windows every decade or so if they manage the list well enough.

    In a system where you don't have draft picks or a means to help the bad teams get better the divide is only going to grow. You have to pay more money to get good players, you have to pay huge money to get elite players and in the Tigers case huge money for scrubs. The NRL is tough because it takes so much to turn a team around from average to elite and we just aren't seeing it. Storm/Roosters locks for finals every single year. You really need to create a standout plan like the Panthers have, create pathways from youth and stick to it. You can't rely on drafts.

    So while agree management is a huge part of it for sure, it's not the start and finish of the conversation.

    Really hoping for a Manly V Panthers grand final.

    That way the NSW boys that destroyed QLD win a premiership either way. I also like to see the two best players of the year go head to head
