Biggest learning from this year is that saving trades hinders more than helps. No matter how much you hear the end of year carnage line it probably doesn’t effect teams that much when it’s the last fortnight it probably happens

Autofill - Hunt and Hynes out will be my last two trades. One has to be a centre to cover Crichton this week Sad Cleary, AFB and Moses still sitting in the wings.

Strategic advice from Wolfy yesterday? I remember thanking you for your vote of approval to skip the trindall to fog trade as well!!

Sorry mate.  I think your situation was quite different to my own from memory and at that stage I don't think we thought Fog would be fighting it out with Sexton.  I never dreamed Trindall would score what he did either.

I never have any intentions of giving dud advice on purpose.

Really? Wow after last year when I blew my all trades and once found myself with just 13 fit players in a round I took the lesson and tried conserving mine this year.

I can trade Hunt to anyone, I can trade out underperformers and I have the trades to get Cleary back. Probably hindered me this week with a lot of crap scores from people I didn't pull the trigger on like Hynes but otherwise I'm still in the top 1000 and I feel good knowing I have the trades to cover chaos that others won't.

    I dunno about this

For every max trade success there's probably a few failures and a few more yet to come.

There's guys right at the top with trades spare too.

Hey when this place had someone rage quit over Captain Cleary, wonder if they've found that things have evened out now. Your captaincy choice absolutely matters now and isn't a no brainer.

I lost about 200 ranks even though I own Turbo simply because I didn't C him. He's up against the Storm this week so it's not a guarantee he's the best option this week either.

Someone in my league is only 241 points ahead of me and 1356 ranks ahead of me (rank 947)... Crazy!

That's how you win the comp

Phase 1 - blow all your trades early bringing in guys who score 10 tries in 7 weeks.

Phase 2 - avoid any injury carnage in the last month of the comp after using your last trade

Or better yet go for the guy that scores 10 tries in 4 weeks (as well as 7TA's, 12LBA's, 33TB's etc)

It's ultimately about making good trades at the right time.
The more good trades you make, generally the less trades you need to make (because the players you traded in are performing well).

    Easy said than done.

I think what someone nailed it when they said; if you would've had them to start the season, then they're probably worth grabbing later on

Can go Hynes > Cleary with the 1 trade and 40K spare.... Wonder when Pappy will take back the 1 and if Hughes gets rested from his calf will Hynes go into half.. although wouldn't really matter as Cleary should outscore him no matter what.

    Oh good. Shop is open.

Now I can spend the next few days imagining who I would trade all my stinky players to if I had any self control and had trades left
