Yeah I agree! It should be between Holmes and Barba! If you want Bird attacking both sides of the field why not Lock and throw Gallen back to Prop. Regardless of where Gallen plays he does the same job so if wont affect him!

Also read somewhere today before their trial an article where Flanagan pretty much talks Bird up to get the fullback gig and that he will be a Josh Dugan style fullback.
He says that Valentine is such a good winger that he adds a good balance to the side being on the wing but will shift into fullback during games. He didn't mention too much about Barba, except for saying that its been his best pre season for some time.

Holmes must have the shlts though didn't he sign an extension last year after being told he would play his preferred position only for the Sharks to promise it to Bird during his negotiations

I agree with Honeysett that Barba is likely to be a trap but he's just so cheap. Going to be awfully hard to pass up if he's wearing the 1

Where does Mataora fit in at the Knights? When he was at Canberra he had a few 50+ games so is capable of points.

I really did not think they were serious about Bird at fullback. I thought with Holmes and Barba there and the new halves, Bird would slot into the centre or lock.

What a waste of talent to have Holmes on the wing and Barba on the bench.

His current ownership is quite high too so it kind of feels safer to go with the crowd if he is named in the 1, even more so given his price and potential. Could go either way though, hopefully TLT clears it up and there is no silly buggers by the coach.

Barbs from the bench should be a cashie so I doubt he'll leave my team. I'm comfortable owning him as an NPR if need be. I think if you also have Copley and Gutherson to call on at the back then you can set and forget with him. He's clearly a better prospect than the rookies for not much more.

I think Barba is a trap. If he proves me wrong he's cheap enough to bring in. If he was a dpp like Copley he'd be in my team instead of Copley but Copley's there as it suits my team structure even though I don't really rate Copley..

In terms of his usefulness for fantasy this year, it doesn't really matter.

He's a proven fantasy gun, that is going to pump out big scores this year. The only question is exactly how big, and that won't be answered in a game like the all stars.

    But he's not a ctr/wfb so I  can't rotate him with Gutherson.

Good taste WL. Have turned up pretty late this year so probably missed all of the must have player banter and tips. Have thrown together a team based on someone's I saw in the rate my team thread, anyone done a recap on building a good squad this year?

Ok so one major issue I definitely have... I don't cover the best team in the competition.

I've shuffled between M Morgan and absolutely no one, in terms of Cowboys cover.

Who does everyone have from cows?

Fifita any day but the problem is he's too expensive as I have Smith & 2 500k+ players prevents a good scoring 17. Surgess is undervalued so he's still a great pick although he'll probably take a few games to get back in the groove. I'm still not totally convinced with Surgess myself but I might be overthinking it.

I currently don't have any myself but I want 80 minute 2fr's in my team so Cooper & Lowe are on my radar.
