Now I'll just file it away into the Luke Brooks hall of fantasy injustices applied to low owned players and move on to next week

Yeah low ownership players don't get the special fantasy privileges.
I don't mind the odd irregularities with tackles, tackle breaks and missed tackles in scoring, but this was clear as day

A few odd ones/PODs in the top 20 actually.

    4th got Lawton and Dearden.

5th jumped on Tevaga and has Gutho.

    6th got Jayden Campbell.

7th got Zac Saddler (presumable a red dot cashout - risky this year).

    8th still has Simpkin.

10th grabbed Garrick and cashed out to Suluka-Fifita.

16th got Garrick and Alex Johnston  Shocked  (plus Hynes, Teddy, Turbo, Walsh)

17th got Ben Turbo and still has Cini

Worth remembering when people start thinking all teams will be the same.

Yeah it is weird. I've never been ranked that high - but assuming if you are then you feel like you have to make some moves to gain spots, would be a bit of pressure.

Nah I just thought I'd have a whinge on here, and hopefully if SI reads it he might send them a fax for me

In seriousness It's a minor annoyance, but nothing to dwell on and we all get them.
I do have a suspicion that high-ownership players are more likely to get the benefit of the doubt and maybe some points that lower-ownership players might lose - POD seekers beware

The docuseries follows the Tigers players, coach Michael Maguire, and other staff over the course of the 2021 NRL season – capturing the highs and lows of competing in rugby league’s premier club competition.

Looking forward to seeing some of these highs - anyone know when they are going to happen?
Must be in the back half of the season as I can't recall many in the first half.

Shows you can make a couple of mistakes and still be successful I guess.

Honestly this season seems like one where the casuals would flourish and the dedicated overthink it too much.

E.g you had people here who didn't have Cleary. They'd run scenarios of how saving money on him could strengthen their depth elsewhere etc. Ends up having the greatest fantasy season in history and causes one person around here to give up.

Fanatics consider Tommy T's injury history, surely he can't keep those scores up etc. Casuals just get him in without worry and he's had the best fullback season in nearly a decade.

This season really rewards being decisive with your trades, you can't really wait a week on guys anymore or they'll get away from you

A few of these need more context to work out if "bad"

5th seems ok to me - Don't reckon Tevaga was much dicier than getting Radley this round, and Gutho would've been a great pickup sometime before R13 that you can totally hold as a season keeper.

6th is a standard cashouts/gamble on a minimum cost player people made as normal plays in previous seasons. If they have trades it'll be fine (I accept they probably don't, and that makes it more risky)

8th - lots of ppl get stuck with injured/dropped midrangers with other priorities.

I'm guessing we're pencilled in to win five of the remaining nine for our coveted 9th place. Broncos next, so there's a 50+ for us. Sounds like it's already been filmed though, so might need to tack that onto the end.

Only other thing would be since Sheens was brought back, maybe some lively discussions around 2005 were had scratch

This round I'll be trading Harris to a hooker. Assuming all players get through origin/are selected for rd18:

    1. Is Hunt worth the premium over Cook/Mahoney?
    2. Is Mahoney likely to get eased back in after injury?

At this stage I'm thinking Cook is the best bet, with Hunt likely to be in a (more) struggling side for the next month.

Bunt is probably #1 but you can wait to be sure if he backs up, and he should get a shitload of kick metres with his shit side.

Mahoney's not a bad one if you think he can do well, the Eels tough draw may lead to them going up the middle more (which helps Mahoney a lot)

Cook isn't bad but I just don't think he is what he once was for fantasy
