Rd 17 discussion

917 for the week, a slight drop to 5,053rd.  Good news is - thanks to some substandard management (https://www.nrlfantasyfanatics.com/t1698-rd-16-trades-no-idea-really) - we still have 11 trades and $116k left in the bank.



At this stage, we have the following possibles for round 17 - Verrills, Tohu, Schuster, CHN, Johnson, Suaalii, Walsh.  Obviously injury question marks over Tohu, Schuster and Walsh, and a selection question mark over Suaalii and maybe CHN if Ricky decides to get funky with the Raiders.

Keeping Watson (and avoiding Burton) turned out OK, and we still have Cleary if we wanted to cash him out.  Other possible outs could include Peachey (although maybe he gets a decent role again in Rd 18 with the Titans origin forwards backing up), Brailey and Jones?

Brailey is most urgent trade out for mine. Taumalolo bets trade in.

Anything else wait for team lists.

Has there been any progress update on Cleary?

Jones also needs to go.
Will lose all the cash he's made and won't be much use as an EMG.

we'll have to wait for teamlists. If there is a base price player might be worth it, but not sure it would be worth spending a trade for less than $100k

I like Taumalolo still. 9x48 is the same as 8x54, and hopefully goes beyond that.

Schuster to Taumalolo with 92k to spare is possible.

Leaves exactly enough for Jones to Dearden at 459k Olakau'atu and Jazz a couple of other names I've seen bandied about in that price range.

Suaalii named at 21, so maybe have to stick with Peach, unless there's a basement CTR with JS..

Brailey not an urgent trade to me. Don't have many HKs and Knights have players back on deck, so maybe can regain that earlier form.

EDIT: I only had 2 trades in mind, just realised we have 4. Could be open to trading Peach or someone else on second thoughts.

Harris apparently out longterm. Fifita missing origin, so probably on the must have list next week.

Harris to Taumalolo leaves 271k to play with.
Could upgrade Jones up to 638k - Taupau, Thompson, Reynolds, Jackson etc. in that range.
Schuster to AFB another possibility.

Those 3 trades only leaves about 50k though. Would have to be Cleary to Fifita next week, but starting to think we could hold Cleary if getting through 2 weeks.

Sets us up to get Fifita next week.

leaves $287k in the bank. We'd be playing Watson at HOK until we get a chance to upgrade, but I think he makes our top 17 at the moment anyway.

Brailey might lose some cash - but the ability to get his 40 rather than Suaalii or Jones if we are down a player

Also if we trade him out - are we happy with Verrills/Watson as our only hooker options?

Savage is OK as a tradeout for Jones if we want to save a bit of cash
Taumalolo in for someone
and maybe Tohu to AFB

Looking at above it looks like most are in agreement over trade-ins, but there is a bit of discussion over who makes way.

Jones to Savage. Hope he plays at least 17 & 18 to help cover origin players who don't back up.

Reluctant to do further trades but the obvious outs are either Brailey or Schuster for me.

50/50 on trading out Harris as most likely we'll be trading him back in as soon as he's back but can understand the appeal.

Would prefer AFB over Lolo.

Happy with the second and third trade. Not convinced on the first. Brailey and Lolo averaging about the same. Lolo more likely to cop a suspension.
Brailey last 5 avg: 43. Lolo last 5 avg: 46... either of them could hit some form... Milchy also makes a good point about the Watson/Verrils hooker combo. Would not want Verrills in the 17 if we can help it.

I also expect we'll be using both trades in round 18 to try and field a 17.

Casualty ward is saying Harris Rd 22 return, so they're saying 5 weeks out. I think NRLPhysio said 2-3 initially, but then scans revealed a higher grade and usually takes longer. I'm reading it as 4-5 weeks, so with holding Cleary already, Harris is a trade to me with that timeframe.

Both Taumalolo and AFB appeal to me after looking at the numbers and I've grown tired of this Schuster situation. Brailey's locked in and worth keeping for Rd 18 imo.

Pretty sure I'll lock these 3 trades in with current info.

Lolo, AFB and Savage in

Leaves a 454k bank for Fifita.
