This is the answer I'd be most interested in a pure vote. I voted Cleary because I thought the forum would vote that way - but geez I'm not sure I wouldn't have gone Turbo if it was just my view.

I agree with you but I also knew forum will go with Clearly. It could be the case with lot of people I would assume.

Great work Jumpin Marlin on getting this organised! Any thoughts in the Women's Origin game tonight? I don't know any of the players really aside from watching a bit of the Women's Origin game last year unfortunately I'm not even across much of the news there. Saw a post pointing out it's raining on the Sunny Coast were the game is so have put a fun bet on the unders for something to follow.

Also our preview of Origin Game 2 is up. We look at the return of Papalii and both forward packs, how both teams will score their points & Reece Walsh's debut. Here's the link:

I was the idiot that said Tedesco is the best player. I guess 6 months is a long time. Also I should've put the fantasy googles on.

Yeah for just one week doing a full Greater Sydney and Wollongong lockdown would be more straightforward. Both for people to follow, and for enforcement purposes.

The best is King St Newtown cut in half by the LGA boundaries. Pubs closed one side and party central the other side.

I went with Munster because I trusted the forum not to watch everything with fantasy goggles and was wrong. Season over after question one.

TBF to the forum, actual NRL players are even worse at judging the best player. Even more recency bias.

Cleary and Turbo over Tedesco, Munster, RTS for overall player.

Interestingly it pretty closely matches fantasy scoring, if you take out kick meters.

I was pretty confident Rabbitohs would be one of the forum's losing qualifiers, I thought that entrants would think the Roosters would Rooster their way into the Semifinal (over the Eels) - I guess the injuries etc have finally taken the lustre off the mighty Roosters?

Enjoying the slow release BTW, it gives people a chance to discuss on a slow weekend - and thanks again for your hard work JM

I was sure Souths and Manly were it. Manly playing a lot better than the Roosters these days at least. Eels/Manly hard to split I think.

    It does

Which suggests either fantasy scoring is a decent measurement of reality (excluding kick metres), or that players also have fantasy (or perhaps stats) googles. Maybe a bit of both.

It always surprises me that players rate current form so highly over long-term success in these polls. Maybe even moreso than fans do. I guess most of them don't pay any more attention to other teams than a fan, except in the week when they are playing them, so just rely on the same headlines and highlight reels.

I went Turbo too. I think his form and the way he's turned his team around warranted him just ahead of Cleary. Turbo was the first player that popped in my mind so that's just what I went with.
