Why would you be looking at these guys? They aren't good candidates to be looking at to start the season for many reasons. Roberts a bunch of us started with because he's cheap and that was it.

Now if you started with Josh Morris, Manu, Crichton, Cotric, Graham etc, well suddenly your pile of rabble isn't one, because you actually fronted some money. I imagine you looked at maybe one of these at most and started with none of them.

Most of us started with some combination that included a cheap Roberts with a shitty history of injury and off field discretions who is on a crap team, Niu who was super cheap and not established in his side, Averillo who again super cheap and not established, or Bird who again big injury history.

It's not like centres are the only people who get injured. So yes, you can get unlucky on Lomax, just like you can get unlucky on Pap missing games.

Every other position, I guarantee you have at least one guy you spent decent money on. So even if you do roll the dice on some options, like a Laurie, you have some safety because you will have spent money on other fullbacks if he didn't pan out.

Lots of people got burned on Lam, but he's one half and most people would have paired him with at least one gun half.

If someone started with a wfb of a bunch of Simmonsons, then when their whole wfb position turns to shit you're going to say well duh.

It's not like I'm doing any different. I got the exact 4 cookie cutter guys I mentioned above. But that's the bed I made.

I fronted the cash for Peachey and of course now centre isn't the ongoing issue for me that it is for others who haven't put the money there. And if gets hurt, I can pivot to any centre I want rather than hoping another rookie like Cini can do the job. Just like it's easier to absorb an injury in your other positions where you spend money because at least if they get hurt you have money to replace them with another reasonable player instead of the cycle of constant dice rolling.

One year you needed a coach, who got you 5 points if his team won. But every other player would score 20-50 points a week. So there was no reason to do anything other than buy the cheapest possible coach.

That's amazing you still have that. I remember Bryson Goodwin having an amazing breakout year in 09 playing for the Dogs and was a must have. I remember David Stagg, Anthony Tupou, Bronson Harrison, Hindmarsh were all great scorers.

I can remember back on sportal picking Inglis in CTR at the storm and everyone telling me to pick guys like Smith and Mannering. Inglis was cheap as chips and killed it and one of the only times I've gone against the tide and it turned out well
