If the number 1 rule of fantasy is 'don't trade healthy CTR's' then rule 1a is 'don't trade guns' and yet everyone here is jettisoning/advocating jettisoning Crichton? the mind boggles.

There's logic in jetissoning Crichton to get Cleary if it's the new #1 rule. To get Frizell, not so much.

I'll maintain that Cleary is good, but not 'waste a trade on dropping someone you'll end up buying back, probably at a higher price' good, he's not gonna average 96 for the season and not owning him for a few weeks is gunna suck, but it isn't the death-knell of a fantasy season, trade down to the right cheap cows, build a war chest then upgrade a stagnating middie and then instead of just having Cleary, you have Cleary, Crichton & an extra trade for when you're hanging on for dear life past Round 20.

That's what I thought last round. Scored well in a losing side because he breaks tackles.

If Davey gets the start are these a waste of trades:

    RTS to Peachey
    Croker to Davey

Can get anyone for Croker up to $385K.

    Koloamatangi
    Jensen
    Momo
    Fuimaono

I like Davey if he gets the start.

Dragons have one of the softer draws in the next while. Maybe they won't get hammered every game.

Fair point, the forward depth in Canberra is such, they can field 2 first grade packs.

If position wasn’t a worry and you had a budget of 517k who’s a pretty low risk add?

I think Cleary could be worth trading Crichton. Different category of gun. If you don't have Cleary you could easily be left completely behind too many teams and not sure that's the case with Angus.

If there's a way of getting in NC without losing AC then go for it, but otherwise needs must. "Don't trade a gun" is all well and good, but could be superceded by new "don't start without Captain Cleary" #1 rule.

    That's beautiful. I'm convinced

But he's playing the dogs this week.... and Manly in two weeks....

Otherwise I'm bringing in Liddle and Milf (had to pick between Liddle and Averillo round 1)

Sideways at best, quite possibly backwards.

On a scale of captaining Cleary to captaining Corey Allan, this is about the same as putting the C on Mbye. Yes, he has scored a tonne before. No, it still is a damn silly idea

Bringing in Cleary is some hilarious FOMO- he must have scored 90+ a good half a dozen times last season, so it wasn’t any secret he could do it. Suddenly he does it in round 1 and everyone remembers that Cleary can score 90+ like they somehow forgot in the off season. Never seen a bunch of well seasoned coaches scrabble so hard before. Fucking love it, but why is nobody bringing in Tedesco now that we know he scores hattricks?

Lodge to J.Brailey. I understand he wont be scoring like that often if ever. But that break even makes it worth getting him in if he averages 45 here on.

Then I know its prob a bit sideways but Lam to Milf. Keary taking on all the responsibility will kill Lams potential points while Milf is pretty much leading the team.

So team for the week bar tlt changes

    J.Brailey
    Tino, B.Smith, Welch
    Fifita, Capewell
    (C)Cleary, Milf
    Niu, Bird
    Teddy, Laurie, Mitchell

    Turpin, Liddle, Watson, Walker(loop)
    Riki, Fuimaono, Avarillo, Moylan

      Current date/time is Tue May 14, 2024 5:25 am
