There were 3 stand-out centers in this years NRL comp, Lomax, Crichton and Staggs. Both Lomax and Crichton deserve their positions on merit, its not like they are having to choose a 2nd rate player to get centers in the team.

When they have all of Cook, Hunt, Keary, Cleary, Gutho, Wighton, Teddy on the field at the same time, they have too many distributors on the field, with the wrong team balance.

I agree, those 3 centres had outstanding seasons and certainly do deserve a chance. Wighton and gutherson didn't really try to run the game as distributors but I agree the balance did seem out once Cody walker entered the field. The fact that they seem to want the supposed best 17 individuals available rather than specific positional players may have hindered them this time, however at this level surely players of this calibre can play a variety of positions to their best standard. For years now, the state teams have fitted the best players in, turbo being a good example

Cordner and Murray out, grand Angus and Yeo in. Would these 2 be the right choices to replace Cordner if he doesn't make it and Murray. Or will someone else from outside the 19 be elevated to the starting 17.

Also are the halves under threat. Keary and Cleary seemed to lose control of the game, would Wighton to halve and a Crichton/ lomax be a right change. Or would going with the stability of the same 2 halves be best. Plenty to deliberate on for the nsw coaches and management

Former NSW Origin star Jack Bird will return home to St George Illawarra on a two-year deal after becoming the first major signing of new Dragons coach Anthony Griffin.

Makes Broncos CTR depth pretty weak with Staggs gone first half of 2021 season

Back 5 probably: Isaako, Oates/Kennar, Farnworth, Arthars, Coates (depth of Kahu, Kennar/Oates, Niu while Staggs injured)

Though it was probably right move for Broncos, depending if they are paying part of contract

Understandable... but if they aren't paying anything for him that is an extra 900K for them to find a CTR/WFB for 300K and then throw another 600K into some key positions like FB/HLF...

Luke Keary dropped, welcome to NSW son. Walker in after being scapegoated after G1 last year. I’m sure this will end well.

A Crichton starts for Cordner, Murray also out as expected. New names on bench are Finucane, Brown and Yeo. Haas swaps with Paulo, surprising but Paulo will actually make an impact off the bench whereas Haas did not and maybe his game suits starting more?

Holmes replaces AJ, Lui for Welch (also injured). Hess dropped, Sua starts and Mofo bench

That QLD team gives me much more confidence than the one last week did.

I think Blues have no clue how to structure a team... One of Wighton/Gutho needed to be moved/dropped IMO

Agreed, Gutho should have been dropped for Lomax, Lomax is at least an attacking threat in the air.

Lomax on the right edge with Cleary’s little lob wedge kick would be a pretty decent weapon.

They will absolutely be paying part of his contract. It was $950k wasn't it? If be amazed if they're not contributing at least $300k of that

Newcastle Knights star Kalyn Ponga is free to chase a spot at the 2023 Rugby World Cup, despite recently extending his Knights contract until 2024.

The game's governing body officially released its updated 2021 contracts on NRL.com on Thursday, revealing the details of Ponga's $1.1 million-a-season deal. Ponga will become a free agent at this time next year and will be allowed to walk out on the Knights at the end of 2022 if he chooses, after Newcastle agreed to include a player option clause in his contract for the final two years of the deal.

The Warriors have signed former Broncos and Roosters five-eighth Sean O’Sullivan for next season on a one-year deal.

The 22-year-old has become the 29th player to be on the Warriors roster for next season, leaving one spot open, which must be filled by June 30 next year.

O’Sullivan, who is the son of the Warriors’ recruitment and development manager, Peter O’Sullivan, played three games for the Broncos this season, during their wooden spoon campaign.

Paul Turner, who made his debut against the Bulldogs in round 15 this year, is the club’s other back up player for the halves.

Former Rooster Jayden Nikorima, the brother of Kodi Nikorima, is currently going through quarantine in a managed isolation facility in New Zealand and has a train and trial contract with the club.

Jayden played seven games in the halves for the Roosters in 2016, but had his contract torn up for failing a drugs test.

We had issues with O'Sullivan signing players on larger-than-necessary contracts from a certain player agent and now we've got rid of those players, O'Sullivan goes and signs his son.

SOS isn't a terrible signing if he's cheap but really and on one hand, it makes sense if O'Sullivan wants his son living in the same city as him, but it's still not a great look.
