Mrs Cow made a joke team for round 1 earlier in the year, and hasn't logged on since.

50 trades next year, here I (she) comes

I would chuck in for QLD

    Mulitalo - Sharks
    Mahoney - Eels
Capewell - Panthers (can fill a centre spot)

Mully would offer aerial height and speed on a wing. Plus is a decent defender.
Mahoney just to throw in for depth choice at hooker
Capewell can do a pretty good job filling a centre spot

Who are they replacing in the 27 man squad? The two most marginal spots in my 27 were Su'a and Feldt, but couldn't find any more deserving options
Personally I don't think Mulitalo is anywhere near a rep jersey. I'd have Edrick Lee well before him
Mahoney would be directly competing with Grant (young up and coming hooker) with the other two spots providing different things - Friend is the experienced veteran with plenty of time in the big games, Hunt - Origin experience and utility value with his ability to play 9, 7 or 14
Capewell was under consideration for that last spot Su'a filled, I don't mind him if QLD decides to go that way in the backs

Capewell will be in the QLD squad, Kevy loves him. Fair chance he will end up one of the centres.

YEP! Earlier this year Kevvy brought Capewell into the QLD camp and said he would be one of the options for the centres cause we have no one else and he has experience there and is sound defensively.

Mulitalo is clearly a throw at a WFB spot in contention with Feldt and Lee.
Mahoeny was also just a throw at one of the names that'll be tossed up for the 9. I would have Grant at 9 with Hunt coming off the bench though.
    Capewell, see below.

I would still go with Friend at 9. It seems like we'll have a few new faces in the forwards and Friend is a proven winner at club level and experienced enough to be a leader in the middle.

Grant's time will come, its close between him and Hunt on the bench (in my opinion), I'd probably lean Grant though.

I'd personally run with Mann and Brimson in the centres. I'm a firm believer that origin is about picking your best players then finding positions for them. Can see the appeal of picking someone like Capewell that has spent time there in the past

When has Brimson played centres? and Mann has played 1 game at centre in the last 3-4 years and prior to that was no world beater.? I think they both are too little to be put in the centres. Look at NSW!!! Latrell, Wighton, JMoz, Cotric, Staggs, Lomax... They would run all over AJ and Mann.

Surely Brimson on a wing makes more sense?

    1. Ponga
    2. Holmes
    3. Gagai
    4. Morgan/Capewell/Mbye?
    5. Brimson

Can't fault it, probably the safest selection. I agree with others I'd rather find a place for Brimson over Capewell though.

They don't need to have played centre. In the last 5 years Michael Morgan, Tom Trbojevic, Jack Wighton, Josh Dugan, Jarryd Hayne and Dylan Walker have all played centre in origin while being preferred in other positions at club level.

Mann has been solid enough defensively this year in his time at 6 which is only 1 position further in. Brimson is an elite attacking talent in the mold of Tommy T. Brimson also leads all fullbacks in tackle efficiency at 91%, while the rest are in the range of 70-85%. He can make tackles when he needs to

I am sorry! I am a MASSIVE QLD supporter and Morgan is not a QLD ctr and we should be embarrassed to even think of Mbye being good enough to play for QLD.

Brimson would be alright on the wing but he is either a 14 or a 1... We need height there! Holmes gets it on merit but we need a Lee, Feldt or Mulitalo who can compete in the air. They will be against Tupou, Cotric, Fergo, Turbo, Fox.

Just my 2c Smile Please dont hate.

I agree that Holmes and Gagai are at their best in origin as wingers so wouldn't want either in the centre unless absolutely necessary. This is probably what Kevvie lands on tbh
