I think it's probably a 45-50 point upgrade on my current 17th man - Siro ~35 avg vs Cotter ~50 average.

That could easily be wiped out by a Teddy/Ponga rest and playing HTF for a week. But most people would be in that boat, right?

Then again, if I'm not going to use my last trade on a red dot to a starting hooker who's a clear upgrade on my 17th man, when will I use it?

    Thoughts please?
    It’s only a 15 point upgrade.
Wait for team lists. Talau and Randall could both be back in next week.

    3K short on Lucy to Moses, of course.  My 3 options I'm looking at are;

Lucy - 713K or lower (maybe Barnett.  He is playing pretty busted though)
    Hunt - Cook
    Talau - Cotter

Over the next 3 weeks, I meant. Didn't phrase that very well tbf.

    I think he means 15 points x 3 weeks for the 45-50.

No guarantee Cotter's a lock to play big minutes for the last 3 weeks though. Played garbage minutes a lot other than the last 2 weeks.

I'd save the trade for the next gun that's out.

I really hope Ponga is playing as my replacement is Averillo pale (or Talau if named, which I doubt will happen)

Just a casual 102 point downgrade based off last week.

Hunt, Sironen, Crichton and Averillo collectively scored the same as Ponga.

If it isnt one of those guys then its HTF for most others. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

If Ponga is out now or the next round or two, the best WFB I could afford from selling Sironen would be anyone from Dylan Edwards and down.

I have no WFB coverage and 1 trade left, I'm almost inclined to do it now just with the expectation either Ponga or Teddy might get a rest soon.

That was the first game all year Luciano has scored below 40. If you can sell him to someone like say Harris who scores close to 60+ as base then yeah go for it but otherwise I think having to play Siro would cost you more points.

When I picked Arrow, I was really thinking about RTS as 4th gun WFB to avoid this situation but obviously didn't go through with it

It could be an alternative tactic in the future with WFBs putting up big scores recently - middles, HLFs and WFBs have definitely seen massive elevation of points with 6 again, with edge forwards suffering a bit in some cases

Yep and Murray lost 2 points too, so I lost 3 points. I can’t complain about a score of 1190 though my best ever.

Rank has gone up from 426 to 290 as well, never been up that high before so pretty stoked. Up from 46th to 32nd in our FOG league as well.

How many trades you got left mate? Still your score is imo slightly above par I’d think so what a bugger you lost a few places!

I'll get to plug in RTS, with Sironen/Fermor into the 17 but I'm definitely the exception and it's luck more than planning that put me in that position

So with Ponga likely rested I’ll be playing HTF but I’m sure others are in the same boat.

Hopefully nobody else is out otherwise I could be playing with 16 as my 18th man Koloamatangi could be sitting out this week due to that concussion the other night.

I’m sensing that there will be more testing of players in round 19 and 20 as well so I think I need to hold my last trade.

I think I read Crossland is in some doubt this week so hopefully Randall may play off the bench again.

It was a DT article saying AOB is considering resting Ponga due to the big hits he's been copping recently. Honestly probably just DT clickbait but Knights have secured top 8 spot already so could afford to play it safe

    Have to wait until TLT

"O'Brien also told News Corp that star fullback Ponga, who broke his nose in a sublime performance against Cronulla, is likely to sit out this week to manage his load ahead of the finals. Utility Phoenix Crossland is in doubt after a head knock."

With 3 trades left, I have the option of trading Ponga out and then back in again.
Possible scenarios would be Ponga gets a rest this week, with other guns rested in the following weeks.
Ponga out this week, RTS/Turbo/Nofoaluma in.
Following week whichever gun is rested/injured/suspended gets traded out with Ponga in.
    Same scenario the following week.
It’s all just speculation though at this point as I’m sure TLT will throw some curve balls.

TBH it wasn't really clickbait - AOB said himself he is leaning towards resting Ponga this week. He said he was giving him a few days off and they'll see how he is on Tuesday. He mentioned he might rest a few other players as well.
