    That’s sadness.

Although I would’ve just pipped him if I hadn’t tanked my team for PODs the last round. So I feel justified in saying my final team was probably about as good as Moanamans starting side.

And here we are, at the sharp end of a great competition. Before we get to the awards, I wanted to say thank you to all of you for keeping my brain working over this trying time and a massive thank you to the Legend that is Milchcow.

Confirming the results as already known, Welshy is our over all H2H winner, beating EasyTiger in the Final

    The Cup:

In the Plate competition, Quicksand wins out over Wolfking

    The Plate:

Finally, in The Bowl. Emptyreal takes the Meat tray beating Multiple Scoregasms in the decider.

    The Bowl:

Once again, thank you all for playing, see you in 2007!

Moanaman finished head and shoulders above everyone else with over 2000 points on second place.
Wolfking pipped Quicksand as the best trader of the comp, whilst Moanaman finished as the worst active participant.
Robelgordo, Teetheater, MS, Mattnz, Jumping Marlin, GreenMachine, Empyreal, Cookie Monster and Code Delta couldn't beat Moanaman's R1 team even after all their trades.

My eyes, the goggles, they do nothing!:

I love this so much. Definitely makes me feel better about my finishing position but also shows I could have improved on a lot of trades, especially in the middle of the season.

Very much so. He scored 26 and 31 points and was counted for both final rounds (even scored you bonus points in the Overall and H2H comps in the final).

Nice. I’m sure it’s not enough, really needed to make that Puletua play.

The 2006 POD Champion of Champions: Round 26

No surprises at the top of the final weekly scoreboard.

    R26 SCOREBOARD:

In the end the top 3 were pretty clear:

The 2006 POD Survivor Head to Head series: Round 26 - The Grand Final

The Unlikely Luke Covell proves to be the big player in the grand final.

POD SURVIVOR - THE TOP 5 AND THE BOTTOM 3:

Robelgordo made some big changes to put him in contention for the title, but...

WHO IS THE ULTIMATE POD SURVIVOR?:

Congrats to both Code Delta and Robelgordo on strong showings in the final, but in the end Code Delta proved a worthy winner.

FWIW had Robelgordo traded in Tony Puletua along with Tonga and Trindall, the Grand Final score would've been 24 - 24. In which case Code Delta would still have won on count back (so don't regret it too much Robelgordo!)

    POD Survivor Final ranks:
    1. Code Delta
    2. Robelgordo
    3. MS
    4. Teeth Eater
    5. Empyreal
    6. Welshy
    7. Shadow Sabre
    8. Mattnz
    9. GreenMachine
    10. MoanaMan

Congratulations again to everyone who competed and gave the POD comp a crack. I hope if nothing else you enjoyed the strange spin on NRL fantasy, and the joy/despair of owning unique players!

Thanks Moanaman, I certainly couldn't/wouldn't have done the POD H2H comp without you generating the H2H draws for the whole season - so thank you for running that comp as well.

If there's one thing I will say for the POD comp, I feel the top teams in it played with real integrity - so I think they all should feel proud of a good season.

Some of us should be able to smash 2020 as some of the moves were extremely well timed, playing certain players only on the weeks where they smashed a big one and not for sub 20s.

I'm looking forward to seeing people trade out players that have smashed a hundred the previous week... because I really can't think of any situation over the last 10+ years that I've played fantasy where I would've even considered doing that Laughing

Going to keep an eye on 2020 trades for a few guys in here, they seem to be able to predict upcoming runs of tries really well.

Honestly though, Moanaman's initial team selection was very strong, he's definitely someone who has a good feel for these things.

His trades didn't seem to help much, I think he's above board.

Kudos for the sterling job you did on this Milchy. Sorry that I wasn't able to participate.

    Thanks for running this milch.
An extra thanks to easy who gave me a reason to stay interested. Because of both of you I can now explore and use spreadsheets. (i'm still mainly a Luddite though)
The only thing I cheated on was before round 1. When Mannering wasn't I wanted to check if he was even playing in 2006. He never came into my team at any stage.
    Thanks again for the fun.
