SBW & Gallen have been mentioned but Nigel Vagana also named on Sharks bench.

Now I have a benching problem for round 6. Who would you pick to play (17th man) out of:
    (a) Steve Turner or
    (b) Tame Tupou or
    (c) Ben Hannant

    Cheers.

The 2006 POD Champion of Champions: Round 2

Here are the standings after round 2 of the POD Championship.

This round saw 12 team POD's disappear as teams scrabble to get those common must haves.
Greg Inglis jumped to 100% ownership with all 22 teams now owning him (making his scores largely irrelevant now).

After a huge start Code Delta dropped back to a middling score of 9, allowing up and coming POD teams to close the gap. The standout this week was MrStephenB who showed it's who you get not how many, topping the scoring despite only owning 4 PODs.

    Scoreboard:

This weeks all too popular players (with >67% ownership) were:
    Greg Inglis (in 22 teams)
    Cameron Smith (in 18 teams)
Hazem El Masri (in 16 teams)

Robelgordo is the first team to not have 2 of the super-popular players.

    Overall Standings:

If people are keen, I can of course also run a parallel POD H2H with the same matchups as the main league. Give me a thumbs up if that's worth doing...
Three matches were decided by a single point. How did you do?

    Haha, math.

I should have said four of your starting 17.

    Thanks.
I sometimes wonder if this is a good use of my time, so appreciate the feedback
I do think it could be a curious thing in comparison with the conventional competition.
Is being cookie-cutter the best strategy at the start, when does being POD focused become beneficial?
Is there really any benefit with grabbing an early POD, as POD's end up becoming common when they go well (lose a bit of gains, but far less risk)

As at round 4 - top 10 points scorers:
    Gasnier 293
    JT 284

    Webcke 244
    Amos Roberts 239
    Matt Sing 239
    Gorrell 229
    Steve Simpson 222

Because the points scored is skewed because some players have only played 3 games these are the top 10 averages:
    Gasnier 73.3%
    JT 71.0%
    Tongue 70.8%
    Hodges 68.0%

One thing this game has shown me it the amount of highly skilled Spreadsheet Warriors that like Rugby League. Between us all there has been some serious data manipulation going on, I've almost got a semi.

    Data is beautiful Love

Yes I got enticed by Hannant's 48 points in round 1 even though my gut was saying Webcke & 70centsalitre would dominate minutes & Hannant would live off the scraps on the bench.

The week where Hazem El Masri scored 4 tries, 126 points and jumped from being in 12 teams to being in 16 teams (and now a Too-Popular player) - congrats if you didn't own him, you get a bonus POD point!  Sad

Round 2's top 8 POD's and the bottom 4 are:

Congrats to the two owners of the great Shane Webcke, and to some great POD's this round including too Willies (Zillman & Mason) and a Tuimavave.

After taking out the title last week, Paul Whatuira's slumps to a lowly 17 and takes out second spot for worst value POD of the round, well edged out by all round nice guy and occassional face stomper Billy Slater.

Maybe I should concentrate on this comp as I'm actually doing okay in this one. Wink

Is that meant to be % or normal numbers?

I started with those in bold, and have got another 3 since.

I could have had hindmarsh instead of wiki at the start which i reckon would have me in the leading pack rather than the chasing pack.

Also where is GI? I thought he was killing it.

    They are percentages mate.
GI has scored 212 points over 4 games (78, 56, 33 & 45) at an average of 53.0%. His last 2 round scores have dragged down his pts & average. He is 15th for points scored & 19th for averages.
