Gotcha, maybe a weighted mixture(created by Milchy) of 2006 average metres and 2005 average metres. Since we won't know the weighting it is difficult to use for future performance

For reference 90 out of 332 available players averaged 100+ metres in 2005, so it would be taking 10 points a game from roughly 1/3 of the comp if we went 0
Anything using 2005 performance in the weighting would be bad for those that have selected players that were mostly on the bench in 2005, (my forwards strategy), while those that selected based on gun 2005 stats wouldnt be impacted.

Not perfect, but why don't we just cut these rounds from comp? Start at round 4, then 6 and every week after? Sucks for the fellas who picked the two early monster scorers, but maybe easiest way to go about it? Or is that going to mess up a whole range of other stats?

Couldn't you just work off 2006 mg stats for each player then apply a random number multiplier e.g 0.5 - 1.5. A bit of random good luck or bad luck in there for people. But makes it more difficult to get a read on overall season average

Yeah these stats are garbage - missing Simmonds 9000 run metres in R1.

I knew he had one good season, I'm starting to think it was not 2006.

These spreadsheets are giving me a semi.

I'm going to jazz mine up some more. Might even stick it in PowerPoint and do a presentation for my kids. Gotta stay busy!

A solution could be that Milch allocates the average 2006 run meters for players in bulk to each participant, rather than advising the numbers for each player, then everyone gets what they are owed (approximately), but dont know who scores great or not for the rest of the season.

This kinda makes sense to me... or pick a random metres gained stat for that player and use it... but really whichever is the least work and seems fair to Milchy is fine with me.

I think at the end of the day, Milchy should pick a system and apply it, and just not tell us what he's decided to do.
That way no one gets a read on whether it predicts future performance or not, and at the end of the day we just trust that it's a fair and consistent choice.
Fanhub have often had issues to resolve and they just make a choice and we all live with it. I feel like this just made 2006 fantasy even more life like...

    Totally agree.
Watching those highlights actually made it feel like the season starting. The Tigers being premieres didn't hurt either!

    Bleurgh Gasnier hattrick.
Might be ruining some of my players already. Prince and Farah assists but know they don’t count!

I was at this game, I was sitting in the corner Crockett scored in, i remember being keen on him for fantasy, then he started off the bench, but came on and scored a try with just about his first touch in the game.

I found him for one reason... price. Even then don’t think will last in my team if he stays bench? I really can’t remember the year well but know the era very well

Fk you Lolesi and your tempting price

This is probably what I'll do.

Have a think overnight, come up with a solution that seems fairest, but not tell anyone exactly what it is.
