    PRESS CONFERENCE:

"At this stage, we will continue round 2."

'Money will only last so long and once its extinguished we are in big trouble."

"An Australia without Rugby League is not Australia. The government has to assist us."

"If the advice changes, we will change too."

"We are leaving every option on the table including suspending the season if need be."

"There has never been more financial pressure on this game in its history."

"The best way to handle these things is to stay measured."

"We have put measures in place that minimise the risk of players catching the disease. That is our number one priority."

"If a player catches it, he or she will get over it pretty quickly because they are fit and healthy."

"We are not insured and I don't think any insurer in Australia would take that kind of risk."

"We are looking at a condensed version of the season, we are looking at an extended version of the season, we are looking at where origin sits in the season."

"We can't take the players on commercial airlines because that's a risk of biosecurity that we can't take."

"If the advice changes and the Chief Medical Officer says close them [the gates] today, then we will close them today."

"If one player or ballboy catches the disease and we have to suspend the season, that's another scenario."

    - OK that will do me. Can't be bothered typing anymore.

I'm not sure about the 'players will get over it pretty quickly' statement. Elite athletes are actually pretty susceptible to viruses as they tend to be already stretching their biological systems to the extreme. Maybe ok at this point in time (early rounds) but later in the season it would probably knock them around pretty badly

What is the NRL's current deal with overseas broadcasting, any chance they could quickly negotiate a deal with an overseas broadcaster to get some extra funds? I feel like overseas broadcasters would take whatever sport they can get at the moment in order to keep viewer numbers up. It would also be good for growing the game.

Those that were asking why Friend got subbed, he missed two crucial tackles on Yeo then Koroisau through the middle which both led to big plays. Looked like a message from Robinson to "step up your game or we will replace you"

To be fair, this applies to a lot more than just rugby league (or even sport in general)

There are going to be a lot of people out there about to lose their income, and its a massive problem working out how to keep everything going

From a fantasy side of things a periodic shutdown of the competition would be interesting.

This. I've got a lot of friends and family in the music/arts/entertainment industries, and this is already seriously affecting them.

    Sounds like they're kinda fucked..

I wonder who ends up eating the most costs between networks/owners/sponsors/staff/players.

All too complicated for my pea-brain albino

The overseas broadcast idea would be cool if we could keep games running on lockdown, but not much security in it lasting as the days pass..

Just in the States there's a fuckton of basketball down the drain, those timeslots need filling. Rugby in Europe too it seems and whatever else they play, I dunno what they do there.

I'm sure they would be in contact with overseas networks to potentially look at selling rights for a single round or game-by-game basis.

I was wondering  and assuming that they'd just fly their families over to stay with them for the duration of this thing. But as above, sounds like they don't exactly have funds to throw around.

Last year I scored 905 points for the first round. I'm on track to score around about 880 this round.
