Just ensure you have cover (through a DPP like Lomax or Drinkwater), otherwise at sub 250, a player in good form... why not

In anticipation of Carrigan’s DPP soon, and Levi adding himself to my team at the weekend, I believe this to be the optimal bench;

- means Friend or a Gun starting Hooker
- means Walters/Luai either starting or 18
If any of you have any of the above in your starting 13, I’m ahead of you before a ball has been passed
... I’m obviously not, but as is mentioned last week, it is a horrible feeling pricks in your H2H getting your starting prop’s points on their bench

Watching the game Walters really concerned me defensively. While he had plenty of heart, you could tell he was a half defending at hooker. It is not often a hooker is so bad defensively you have to hide them. From my count, Walters only won 1 ruck from 37 attempts and it was a kick chase on a winger. Main concern was when Warriors managed to get to the second rower for a one on one tackle. This often meant Walters would have to "cover" the spot next to either Brooks or Benji, a recipe for disaster against good teams. I imagine McGuire also saw this on the tape and will ensure that Walters always goes to the open side rather than short side, but could easily get caught out in a game

Isn’t it weird how people can watch a game and get a different view on things lol. I agree he had some lapses in Judgement but I actually thought his Defense was solid for his first trial against a big side. I thought he appeared to go too hard and gassed himself. His passing game was crisp, I just felt be needed to maybe take the line on in the first half however that may have been nerves. He had a few runs in the second half which was positive and maybe a sign that he lost the nerves in the first stint. It could completely backfire but I think he will do well in the role and from all accounts, it’s his position to lose.

Offensively, I absolutely agree. He gave crisp service, knew when to engage the markers and added an extra dimension to the attack. I do think Tigers looked best when he was at hooker, although I don't think the middle defense is strong enough to make it work

I agree, there are Definitely some concerns defensively as a group but I am confident that he is their best starting hooker option. I have him in my 17 and hoping for a mid 30s average.

Is there a reason not many are picking Jayden Brailey? Tossing up between him and Levi for a bench spot. Is it because Watson will likely steal a good chunk of his mins at hooker?

He's already priced on being a 60 minute hooker.
He is more expensive than BBrailey, Levi, Koroisau and JMK who all have more upside. I don't think there is much value there
