Not being serious are you mate? Team is completely fine.

Sure Morgan and Mahoney you prob didn’t have in mind as season keepers but both on their day can outscore the most expensive players.

    Top 3 hookers
    Best front row
    Best back row
    Best centres
    Best backline
Best half on his day in SJ

    Aiming low is all relative.

In 3 rounds time, everyone is going to have very similar teams, so it's going to be the performance of your 3-6 PODs that determine whether you go up or down the ranks in the last few rounds.

Looking at Wolfy's team, the only difference between his forwards and the current top on averages, is that he can get an extra 0.5 points a game going Taupau to Matterson. So for all intents and purposes he has the best forwards possible (on current averages at least)

Almost everyone will have Bateman + Nikora, nothing lost there

Almost everyone will have Teddy, Ponga, RTS
Some will get in TTrbo - who I think might be one of the top 3 for the urn home for those who can afford him. There might be a couple of other PODs floating around, but proibably won't miss out too much there.

So the only problem, if you can call it that, is Morgan and SJ in the halves.
SJ certainly has the pedigree. I think due to his price, he might be somewhat popular for the run home, especially as a lot of teams will struggle for cash after Xerri, Lomax, Dearden, CNK all crashed

Having Morgan instead of DCE, or one of the more reliable 50+ halves might hurt a little.

The other player who might not be ideal is Mahoney, where you can probably get a 5-10 point better player if you have the trades and money.

So 2 players away from a close to ideal 17 (maybe 3 depending on how SJ goes)
If you are competing for top 10, then that might make a difference, but for the rest of us plebs, it's probably OK.

The other main difference will be having trades to deal with injuries (lots will run out with 5+ rounds to go) or having cash/trades to be able to jump on the guy who is storming home with a tonne of irresistible form (which as well as having trades to bring in, also involves timing the trade to get this guy in before his form comes to an end)

wolfking wrote:Might as well write down a final 17 I'll aim for.  Aiming low that is, very low.

    Cook
    Fifi Taupau
    Murray Tolo JTurbo
    SJ Morgan
    Bateman Nikora
    Ponga Teddy RTS

    McInnes Smith Mahoney Haas

If I aim for this I need to find coin and trade outs for Smith JTurbo and SJ.  Still backing Morgan to be decent enough for the run home as long as he's back in the halves.  11 trades left and have CNK Sivo, Xerri, Havilli, Lomax and Dearden that are expendable.  Should be doable.  Although if I can't afford JTurbo, I'll settle for a Twal, Crichton or JFH at lock.  Mahoney a worry but he'll be right.

Was thinking all arvo about punting Lomax for Edwards (seriously) but probably better to cash him out next round or 16.  Edwards has shown enough to run considering how volatile the back are lately and keep Ponga in the halves with Morgo.

Barring injuries will have this 18 for Rnd 17. 5 trades to bring in Cook, hopefully in one trade for Watson, but might need to sacrifice one of the guns (whoever gets injured). DCE might be main POD, don't see that many having the trades/cash to get him post-origin

    Smith
    Fifi, Haas
    Tolo, Murray, Crichton
    DCE, Milf
    Nikora, Bateman
    Ted, Ponga, RTS

    McInnis, Taupau, SST, SJ, Watson
    CTR, WFB, Brittain

Other than this week, he'll miss r16 for sure.

R15 and R17 he'll be backing up from origin so is a chance to get rested/reduced game time.

Me too. Tripled down with first try scorer, any time try scorer and warriors win. This may not end well.

I think if you dont plan on keeping Murray or want to be different from other teams now is a good time to trade him out

Bad luck for us both. Hopefully he is a quick healer and back in 3 weeks for round 16 when matters. I will keep and hope anyway. Currently 223rd on Fantasy. Haven't posted in here for a long time but I been reading.

Someone that might go under the radar as people look for the uber guns or if you're short of cash for your bench, I reckon Nathan Brown might be a good shout

He'll bottom out around 670k for R17 and although he probably won't play 80 every week he posts decent PPM. Only risk is he is slightly injury prone

I reckon with my own team I won't have barely any PODs which might be a downfall - with everyone having very similar teams the only places to gain/lose points is HLFs and last bench spots

N Brown is on my radar but he'd be a round 19 ish onwards pick up/luxury trade if things were to go well from here. But that seems unlikely with the way players are dropping every day.

I could trade him in right now but with only one game back under his belt I dont want to jump the gun

I will likely be a little bit off my "Ideal" 17 but only by a half I reckon (SJ over someone like DCE)

Will be using Burns as 18th man

A worker's 45 RTS would be nice - show you're still a fantasy gun but still drop a bit of cash

Only got Taumalolo tonight (not captain) so will drop ranks
