If you’re talking about someone like Dearden who did play but still got 0 then you will get their score

5.9. "ZERO" SCORING PLAYERS
If a Player you have chosen for your team plays and scores zero or less, then there will be no Auto-Emergency Substitution to replace this Player. On rare occasions this may happen if a Player is injured very early. It’s unfortunate, but a part of rugby league.

I think you're talking about Dearden being outside your 17?

Pretty sure he won't be counted as an emergency if you have a red dot in your line-up.

That's how it used to work anyway.

I have 0 players in this game so this will be a fucking pointsfest.

In the past negative scoring autos were ignored.

Just pretend he scored 1. That is how his score will be treated with regards to emergencies or anything else. It's just a regular score.
