Everyone talking about Bateman, but should i pull the trigger on Lomax - Havili

Was all set for Martin to Havili until last night's shenanigans. Will Havili score enough/make enough money to justify the trade?

Should be playable in my 17 more than lomax, which might come in very handy next week depending on who does/doesn't back up from origin

I brought him in for Kikau the poor ol boy. I'd say he's definitely playable in the 17 if last years numbers can be repeated. Well in my team anyway

    I don't envy this decision.

If Lomax manages to stay at FB and average 37 (probably unlikely), he will still make another 100k in the next four games.

Agree Havili will be a more reliable player for your 17, as long as Hodgson stays injured.

Where did Lomax actually play last week?

I didn't watch the game, but he made 24 tackles, so I'm guessing he wasn't at fullback.

I think 37 is at the high end of his potential average in any case

He played fullback the entire game.

He was pretty active. He was first down field on alot of kick-chases, and in general he made alot of 1st tackles in the set before running back to fb. The dragons also defended on their line a lot and he followed the ball and got into heaps of tackles on the try line as well.

Its gotta be a record for a fullback.

If the Dragons continue to be as woeful as they were, then yeah, its hard to see where more points will come from.

Against the Doggies next week so could see a lot of attack. Hoping he could nab a try and put on a 40-50 to jump about another 150K+ before trading him out after R16.

Is there any word on of Peats is back next week? Just trying to decide whether to do the Bateman trade this week or next. If I have to trade in bateman and also trade out Rein next week then I don't want to be screwed by an injury to one of my players during Origin.

Basically I have a H2H match next week against one of my mates that I have to win for bragging rights and I want to be at full strength Smile

Yeah from Wacko's Whispers this morning: Peats set to return next week after being in full training this week

Hmm, might make the trade now then. He will be cheaper next week but it will be good to get the trade out of the way. Leaves me 200K for the Rein trade to probably McInnes.

Courier Mail reporting that Arrow suffered 8mm tear in quadriceps yet he's still going to play Origin

Must be pretty tough - but does this leave him weakened post Origin 1 and performing under duress similar to last year

I've already traded him out but for those that have held him it is interesting point

    Cook
    Fifi Haas
    Murray Taupau Tolo
    Milf ARey
    Bateman Nikora
    CNK Teddy Ponga

    CS9 Mahoney Twal Havali
    Martin Dearden Lomax Brittain

Test centre Bateman could still go bang this week because the Dogs are that bad.

This would make the most sense based on form prior to his and tapines injury

    Young will spell Tapine

It’s not like Bateman has a groin or hammy that is risky. It was a face injury

My R13 trades really take a hit on my bank account so R14 I will probably need to trade CNK and grab a cow or R16 playing NPR to fund Young to RTS. Then R15 I will look at moving on Tolman/Martin for the likes of Rymat/Twal and a R16 cow. Then after Origin it would be time to move Xerri and Mann for my last 1-2 players.

Might even see Tapine go bench and he could be the one to spell Young as Ricky said it takes Tapine roughly a month to get full fitness back.

I'm just waiting for Tapine to bottom out and hope he gets his 80min edge role back and he will be one juicy cow to milk.

He's going to dip below $400k, definitely on my radar for the run home.

For me the dilemma is Rein to Bateman or McInnes next week.

McInnes might smash his BE and get too expensive. However no Bateman means another week of Lomax.

Feel like my team is stagnating while everyone else's is going to rapidly improve in next couple of weeks, though I'm lucky I've gotten to this point with a high rank.

You going to not pick up Dearden. I don't have him as well (which looked like an OK decision before his 50+ last week) but he's high on my list because it looked like he was taking a greater role in kicking and has high job security and negative BE.

I think I'm leaning towards grabbing McInnes before Bateman simply due to McInnes low BE for a keeper (35) and then plug the gap 1 last time with Xerri v Eels or Lomax v Dogs and then hopefully be able to do triple gun in R14 and one cash out
