Say first trade over limit is a %5 tax, second %10 third %20 with a cap of 5. So at the end of season when you’re short on trades, a gun gets injured instead of just coping a zero, you just can’t afford a straight swap to another gun, but have option of bringing in someone slightly worse.

Probably a shit idea. Came up with it on the porcelain

What says those teams are mediocre though? Maybe they just went with a different strategy to get the most out of the bye rounds.

As it stands now, their strategy to get the most out of the bye rounds involves passing up on certain guns because of origin and taking lesser players. That makes their team mediocre compared to someone loaded with guns who play origin.

If a player's origin score for that week were counted instead, then there's less reason to avoid those guns, but you've still got to raise the cash to be able to afford them.

If they're worried that it will make too many teams the same, then raise the player prices so that midrangers don't become irrelevant. Also reducing trades like you suggested.

You'd only be getting 1 extra score out of your origin players, but still have to get through all 3 games injury/suspension free and hope they back up the following week.

Just doesn't make sense to me that you get a 0 for origin players when they're out there playing still.

It'd be crazy to rule someone out just because of one bad game before Origin when they've played better than other options the rest of the year. It's more a culture issue with him if he isn't selected.

Yeah I don't really like the idea of reducing trades by too much haha. I like the adjustment of prices so it's harder to get guns a bit more.

I would expect Ricky would ease him in the forward rotation surely this week. Next week could be an issue though especially if Bateman back too.

You know which bookie? I can never find them. They use to have a supercoach market for AFL but stopped because players would bet on themselves to underperform and ultimately win the bet

Shiver me Timbers. I did not think of that. Let us all join hands and pray Bateman makes his return in R13. Surely they give him a weeks training before bringing him back in.

Im $10k short of Burns to Bateman. Will need to cashout Martin/Young to Billy Brittain if they're not playing rd12. Fk what a waste of the trade those two were

So I captained Cook as usual & then read the DT late mail which said if Knight is ruled out due to concussion then Brittain might come into the 17 to give him a taste of first grade so he's more prepared if Cook is rested after any of the origin games & he has to play. This is what you call a red flag so I hope Knight passes all his concussion tests.
