Think of how much go forward we will get on the back of those quick play the balls to give Brooks all the time in the world while he waits for MBye now playing center to catch up with the play.

When did Papz sign with Melbourne? Was that under Cleary or Madge's watch?

Ah shit, yeah forgot he was there for years haha
Was imagining him doing a JAC and Koroibete and going off to kill it in a team that doesn't really need him. Storm's probably the one team we can rule out then I guess.

Not terrible, victim of circumstance. Coaches are hamstrung by $$ and contracts. I think we are seeing Madge implement what supporters have been screaming for, why the fuck have we bought so many outside backs when we need more grunt in the forwards.

Yep, this. Mannah a huge buy for Tigers terribly slow speed at the play the ball. The cat always lands on his feet. Wouldn't be surprised to see him average close to 150metres for the remainder of the year if he gets sixty minutes like he should have been getting a Parra.
The unit averages 99 metres in only 32 minutes of football, the almost 250m per 80 minutes which compares well with the best props in the game. I honestly think the Eels just don't play him enough.
In our wins that he had played (4 of the 5) he averages 143metres in 42 minutes.
In our losses he only plays 32 minutes and averages 62m, most of those coming off the bench. He has been used poorly this year, you can clearly see our go forward struggles when he is off the field. I'm not sure why he gets dragged or has been benched, so much eitherhis tackle efficiency is almost 92% so he is missing stuff.
Look, I'm a massive Mannah fan, I'd take him every day as a player and club man over a shit cunt like Packer or Druggo like Matulino. When he played Origin, those years, he was great, his only Origin start he won. Is he a top 10 prop, no, of course not, but he represents great value and culture for the Tigers. He will quickly become a fan favourite with the Tigers faithful, no doubt about it and in my view is a loss for the Eels. I can't believe we couldn't have found some money somewhere in our cap to keep a stalwRt like him and it again shows why the NRL need to introduce veterans cap exceptions for 10 year plus players. Shame on you Parra and the NRL

Im not a huge fan of his recent work on the field - last 2 or 3 seasons the word "pedestrian" comes to mind, but the leadership and culture a clubman like that brings to a club is huge and I would have thought be worth his contract.
Side note - isn't there a long serving player allowance in the cap already? Something like an extra 250k that sits outside the counted salary?

Pretty sure it can only be used on one player? You would they would have used it on someone like Mannah though

Yep, which is why you would think a player already contracted next year and eligible would have been a no brainer to keep if there wasn't issues in the background. Not sure if they have anyone else eligible to take it up. May be the big dollars Moses signed on means they need the allowance for someone else ??

Has to be a top 30 player at the club for at least 8 years or in the NRL for 10 years, so I imagine the $200k would be only eligible for Gower, Fergo or Jennings.
That or it was all tied up with Mannah and they wanted to clear it for an experienced signing for next year.

Do the players still have to be with the team? Just wondering if the Tigers can still get it for paying wages to the likes of Fifita, Tedesco etc? Or has that joke passed it's use by date now?

Tigers haven't paid players to play for other clubs since back when the Broncos were dominant.
